Why wouldn’t you guys believe Moorhead? Akron is a dumpster fire. If he got Rees’s salary he’d see at least a $1MM/year raise
I never really went for the "Tommy Rees is a Nepo Baby!" stuff but I was surprised we didn't go hard for Moorhead last time around. Our OC job is better than being HC at Akron. Go get him.

Whoever comes in will be walking into one of the most experienced offenses in college football next year with a lot of talent to work with. They're setup for success. That said, I'm calling it now...offense will explode next year with said returning talent and someone will say "lUlZ, rEeS sUcKeD!"

Looking at Moorhead. Guy hasn’t been at a place longer than one year since Fordham in 2012-15. Whats the pros on this guy? Looks like he is a nomad.

I'd make Grubb tell them no. Then I'd turn to

Jeff Grimes
Clint Trickett
Chad Morris

If we're going current HCs, I'd see if Moorhead or Jason Candle have any interest.

Why not Scott Frost? Sure he sucks as a head guy, but most of that is the lack of talent you can now get at Nebraska. He had Oregon and UCF humming.

I think people need to remember that someone needs to coach QBs. If you look at the guys Saban was rumored to be targeting, the were all OC/QB or had a history with QB coaching. ND will need to do the same and a few of the names thrown around have never coached QBs.

Hartman can coach QBs. He is older than Rees was when he took that job 😀

Moorhead was HC at Fordham, another religious institution. He left a lot of money on the table leaving Oregon to go to Akron. He has bounced a bit but he’s s great coach.

Chip Kelly and Helfrich had Oregon humming. UCF I am also not entirely sure what he had to do with that. He turned it around with guys that O'Leary had in place, then when he left, Heupel didn't miss too much of a beat.

Kudos to Frost for cashing in, but I think he's got a lot left to prove and I'd rather he not try doing that at ND.

Is this list for real? Jesus we are SCREWED if Saban couldn’t get any of these guys.
I don't mean this in any type of way, but I wonder if Saban wants to be able to bully his OC. He hasn't really been able to do that recently and the above list doesn't really give off the 'willing to get ass chewed' vibes

I'm down for Paul Chryst. He was solid at Wisconsin and has coached QB's his offense isn't firecracker but its balanced.

BoB and most of his guys took step up jobs. Doubt Tommy would go to just get bossed around. But if you’re right, hell for 2.5 million I’ll get bossed around.

He would leave after one successful season. Back to HC somewhere.
That’s not unusual. It would be good for freeman’s development to get a coach with his offense experience in for a year.
