Good effin' riddance, Doug.

And what a stud replacement in Dungy. That's an awesome tandem with him and Tirico

Matt Simms must be off to purely NFL pastures i am guessing? Kathryn Tappen needs to go also, she's as bland and wooden.

As a Bucs fan, I love Dungy. Great seeing Flutie move on.

No More Flutie as the color analyst!

Oh my goodness, my ND football Saturday excitement level is through the roof. We need a full season of ND football in the worst way.

Just looking at the schedule, I'm not too thrilled about starting with 4 of the first 5 at home, then having 4 of 5 on the road.

Horribly imbalanced.

Tony Dungy is one of the most mature gentlemen in football of any level. And one of the coaching-level smartest. We are blessed with this fellow, my friends.

The only question is how do things like this take so long? What boneheads are making these decisions?

It'll be nice to not have a hater in the booth, at least I can't imagine Dungy being a hater anyway. That man loves everybody.

And that's a fair question. Seems a bit late in the process to figure out who is going to be doing play by play of Notre Dame games. I would think those guys put in some work in the offseason getting familiar with the players, coaches, program, and some opponents as well.

Worst case scenario - Dungy is like a milder form of John Madden, just making sounds in the booth without providing any substance.

What makes Dungy an amazing add is that he's everything Flutie is not. I don't expect him to bring a bunch of energy or razzle-dazzle but he's extremely intelligent and professional... and that's good enough for me. Color without the bullshit and bias will be refreshing.

He’ll call it like it is. Loved him when he coached the Colts. Polite, Respectful and knew how to kick your ass and make you think he was doing you a favor.

Wow adding Dungy is like winning the lottery. Listening to games will be so much better.

Just saw Dungy's Tweet! I'm so amped for the season now, this might be the best broadcasting team we've ever had. Ding dong, the Flutie's gone!

So Chris Simms is gone? Really enjoyed Chris.

Simms did an excellent job.

Now that we know the broadcast team, has there been any mention if they will do the play by play and color commentary on site or remotely?

not sure but the ticket email i got mentioned there would be media on-site. not sure if that means an entire broadcast team or if its more your local/regional reporters.

This is just a huge double bonus. Not sure if I'm more happy that Dungy is added, or that Flutie is subtracted. It's like finding out your cancer is cured on the same day you win the lottery.

You have to have the camera and production crew on site, so what's the big deal in having the broadcasters on site? Right?

I believe NBC will call the games from the stadium.

On the opposite side, there will be 28 members of the media present this fall at Notre Dame, which is down from about 150.

A few of the leagues have the commentators separated by a sneeze guard so it's totally possible.

Mike Golic Sr hasn't been great on any games hes been assigned so far from what I have seen. I caught two quarters of the Iowa State Week 1 game and he was hard to listen to. You can tell he hasn't done any research and is just winging it with cliches and generalizations. One bit comes to mind when he kept going on about how quarterbacks are good golfers...it was awkward.

Well one would hope he knows plenty about the visitors this weekend, that would be a bad look if he didn't.

Should make his homework easy, he only has half the work to do. Hopefully he doesn't drop the ball Saturday, I'm hoping for a fun broadcast.

He was watching Iowa State, you'd be bored too.
