NDNation is a circle jerk of uninformed people. The amount of misinformation there (All we do is throw fades!!!) is a joke. It is a fact that Cash, one of the Administrators, has an axe to grind against ND-I believe he was kicked out at one time- and ACross clearly hates almost everything about ND. It is a friggin shame they got the NDNation web address. People may actually think they represent the ND fanbase.

This is a great website: Sh$t NDNation Says

Anyone know who actually owns the site? Might not be a bad investment piece to buy it, clean house, give the site a fresh coat of paint, and let 'er rip. They get more traffic on that piece of crap than any other Irish board.

He's actually a lawyer in St Louis. He does quite well for himself.

That being said, there was a story on there a while ago where he pissed someone off so bad that they collected a bunch of his posts and emailed them to his boss. The site went into a nuke period with people going nuts. He claimed that he almost got fired for it and was going to press charges.

My guess... he made the entire thing up just to get some attention.

That did happen but it was on the Irish Recruiting Journal in the late 90's. I've posted that story on IE in the past. I was one of the administrators on that board at the time.

The straw that broke the camel's back was when he got chided on the board for a post rift with misspellings and grammatical errors as well as factual errors. He shot back at his chidders that it was not his fault. He claimed he had dictated that post to his secretary and she had entered his masterful post incorrectly and she would get her's for making him look foolish when he returned to the office. The poster that turned him in to his partner-in-charge acted out of concern for the secretary's welfare not over the bumptious, narcissist's billing clients while playing on an Internet board.

The twit did threaten to sue. Someone pointed out to him, if he won he would be awarded a penny, the smallest award possible, and the worth of his reputation. He dropped the topic.

He actually got more fired up after one of his typical rants on ND Subway fans when someone from his class posted that he was venting his latent anger over being rejected by ND's Law School. He demanded to know the true identity of that poster and threatened to sue both him and the IRJ. That ended when a former classmate, who did go to ND Law, posted his actual law school and graduation year. He pointed out there was no grounds for a suit so stop the bluster.

Interesting... The situation I am talking about was on NDNation last year, it wasn't a rehash of that situation. That makes me wonder if he indeed was making it up.

15 years later? 20 years out ... he should have made partner long ago.

He was the role model for Louis Litt.

Wiskey.... I KNEW IT!

You got me. I'm leading a double life as the Grandmaster of Goldseat Grumpery, Andrew J. Cross.

I'm not sure why, but lots of hosting companies, including GoDaddy!, are based out of the Phoenix area.

I'd love to buy the domain, though. We should open a Kickstarter campaign for it. Would improve ND's online image tremendously.

I also wouldn't be shocked if my grandfather frequented NDNation. He tried to rant about field turf at me a few weeks ago, but he just kinda got tired after a couple sentences.

My head hurts trying to follow that site design.

Haha, I was just reading their thread regarding the "Irish website rivalries." One guy said "Some people don't understand the beauty of this website design." They must be stuck in 1999.

They view IE as an enclave of Pollyannas with offensive avatars posting garish ".JIFs" and other new-fangled techno-doo-hickies the likes of which Rocke would have never approved.

Does anyone know what happened to Patulski? The guy was contributing some very solid posts before he disappeared.

Ha! I honestly hadn't seen that until you linked to it. Goes to show how easy they are to parody. The caricature is straight out of central casting.

I just now visited their site for the first time. I used the link posted above about the thread. I have no clue what it took me to, or how it works.

From SBNation's "This Week in Schadenfreude":

NOTRE DAME

Let us close this year in Schadenfreude with a trip to the inimitable, unlinkable...ND Nation.

It used to be that when our Irish lost ...................
it was very hard for me to get beyond the thought of losing. It would take days for the sour feeling to subside and move forward to the next game. Now I have accepted losing as part of the norm and I blame the admins of ND and there poor decisions and choices in coaches.

Thank you for fucking ruining a great and wonderful tradition !!!!!

Sounds to me like they've improved your physical and mental health. You should send them a thank you note!

Dear Swarbrick: If you want to send a message...
Then do it. Do the unthinkable. Take a pass on a bowl game this year. Your messages will be:

- 7-5 records are not acceptable and will not be rewarded

- We would rather our student-athletes hit the books for the next month than prepare for and play in a meaningless game

- Coaches: You had plenty of time to develop this team and failed. You don't deserve to have your hands on these players for another 3 to 4 weeks, there is no point. More bad coaching will not lead to team improvement.

- Players: Your season was a failure. Sit your ass in the library, watch the snow fall outside your window. Then go home and watch other players run around in the sun in Florida and California while you yank your pud.

- Alumni: We really are not the money grubbing whores that you think we are. We have standards and principles. You have to squint to see them, but they are there.

No one - with the exception of brnd - really believes 3 or 4 more weeks of bad coaching will improve this team for 2015.

No one - with the exception of brnd and our prospective opponents - wants to watch this band of fucking losers play another game. I don't, and I refuse to watch even a minute of it.

Let the players and coaches sit and stew. Let John fucking Heisler shovel his fucking drive way and eat Sonic for a week.

Let them think about what they are missing. Let there be, for ONCE, a negative consequence for failure.

I do not want to be a child in trouble at your house. "YOU GOT A B MINUS? CHRISTMAS IS CANCELED. WHY? BECAUSE I'M SCOTT TENORMAN OF THE WEEK AND I SAID SO."

And, finally, the most hilarious suggestion anyone's ever offered about how to fix the Fighting Irish.

Is Coughlin too old?
This would be the perfect time for him to leave New York. And I'd consider him a home run hire.

George O'Leary was born on August 17, 1946. Tom Coughlin was born two weeks after that. But, of course, this is the first response to that question:

Not in my opinion

There might not be a "too old" for some Notre Dame fans. If Methuselah showed up tomorrow with a whistle and a tough guy attitude, somebody would suggest him for the South Bend job.

That site is an embarrassment.

How is it that popular? How???? Every time I talk to another alumnus who bothers with forums, they're ALWAYS NDNation. The site design alone should scare people away.

It's been around forever is the main reason. The first time I saw it was when a friend of mine, who is an alum, showed it to me and that was 2002. My uncle who is also an alum pulled the site up on his phone a few weeks ago when we were talking about the future schedules which surprised me because he is older and I didn't think he followed any fan sites. So I just think ND people have been familiar with site for along time.
