I sent a screen shot to the @IrishCompliance twitter account and sent some follow up questions asking what can be done. I agree, Whiskey, that a cease and desist would likely be all it would take but I fear they will say it is too much work. There is some cloudiness around the term booster which is why I don't think schools are in such a hurry to stop people from actively recruiting on Twitter. It would literally be a full time job if someone were to try and wipe it out. All these guys that tweet our recruits non stop insist they are not boosters so they can do what they want. Assuming they have not made any financial contributions, and knowing full well that these asshats didn't go to ND, the only definition that would likely apply is:


Boosters - Athletics Compliance - University of Notre Dame


Is being a fan considered promoting a program? In my opinion probably not, but who knows. Regardless if they are boosters or not though they can be stopped. I am pretty liberal when it comes to the occasional hashtag or "Go Irish!" but it's the ones like Fister and his band of misfits that literally stalk these kids that I have a problem with.

Disappointing, but not unexpected. I vaguely recall reading about an email from Compliance stating that if provided with contact information and proof of violations, they would definitely send a Cease and Desist letter threatening to blacklist the person from campus.

Fister's Twitter account is one massive ongoing secondary violation, so all we have to do is tie a name and address to it. Reverse Google image searches on his Twitter and 247 avatars didn't turn up anything, nor did Facebook searches for "Joshua Fister" or "Josh Fister".

I went back and forth with the 3 stooges last night until 1:30 I think. They don't feel its a violation and don't get how creepy it is for them to be tweeting hs boys.

Send his contact information to ND Compliance along with links to his nearly endless record of secondary violations. They send him a Cease and Desist letter. And then Fister can decide whether tweeting at recruits is worth never getting to step in Rock's House again.

Or someone could get his IP via email response. A message from a fake account claiming to be an Irish recruiting target, or a BR "reporter" looking to interview him for a recruiting article, etc. would surely do the trick.

Name + IP is usually all you need to get someone's physical address.

Nothing personal that I'm seeing but I'm only 2 pages in.
His 30k are only from March.
So new account or he just changed his username.
Only 1 weird follow back and that's a high school.
May have to follow up on that.

On a slightly different note, I would like to publicly thank all the moderators for doing a masterfully job splitting off the nonessential, the nonsense, or the tangential from recruits threads specifically, and leaving the rest behind. It is a masterful job that is being done. You don't see anyone wondering where posts have gone. I personally haven't been upset for months over post management. I know it helps having more mods but you are obviously maintaining your humor, your pride (in IE among other things) and your commitment to the users. It shows.

This whole stupid debacle is why I got so pissed at domelover3, because when he joined he was tweeting at recruits along with his boy fister and gruble and star or whatever these dorks names are. After we repeatedly (and I mean repeatedly) told him to stop doing that crap if he was going to be a member here, he relented and stopped.

But then he would start back up again and people would report him. That little sh!t (no longer a member here so it's not a personal attack on a member lol) just couldn't help himself. To these dorks it's their way of being part of the 'action' since they never played and never went to parties or talked to real-life girls before. People wondered why I was so hard on the kid...this is EXACTLY why.

I'm not a big guy nor a violent guy, but I swear I'd beat the living crap out of one of these losers (Sons of Anarchy style) if I ever saw them. Whoever exposes them/stops them gets a free night on the town (which means the 'Backer cause they have 32 oz beers for $2.75 LOL) from me...

He had changed his account. He used to be star69ND on Twitter as well but he changed because so many people were outing him on 24/7 for tweeting at recruits.
