The final ‘ring’ scene isn’t really talked about much,… made the whole movie for me. Even after all that,… he felt like he failed so many. Breaks me every time
Yeah, the ring scene is what broke me too. I've seen the movie 4 or 5 times and it still gets me. What a powerful scene. One of the best in movie history.

The 40 degrees, 15 mph winds, and pouring rain made my Sunday morning round unenjoyable (still somehow shot 88) and I thawed out by stretching out on the couch for my annual viewing of Master and Commander.
I really wish they made this into the series of films that was originally planned. Russell Crowe is spectacular (like usual) and this film is smack in the middle of his ten year run of being the best actor on the planet. Please watch if you haven't already.

Just know it's an art film disguised as an action drama so don't expect Pirates of the Caribbean.

Excellent choice! It’s leaving HBO Max at the end of the month so I’ll need to watch it again soon.

You can watch that scene out of context and it makes you want to cry. In context after watching the whole movie before it is so brutal.

Master and Commander is my movie where it doesn't matter what's going on or what mood I'm in, I'm always ready to watch it.

That scene,…

‘Dad,…wanna have a catch?’

The Matthew Fox locker room scene to end ‘We are Marshall’

‘It’s not your fault’ in Good Will Hunting.

Scenes like that always get me… damn dust

My wife laughs, I get immersed easily into movies. I'm also fairly certain that at this point in my life I've been conditioned to tear up when a sad scene plays and violins are playing in the background. It's like a Pavlovian Response.

There's a lot of movies that'll do this, but the first one I can ever remember the dust hittin' me was this one. I went to a trip to DC with my old man for his work. We had lost our dog maybe a month before this movie came out. When the golden retriever comes over the hill...still gets me. If you've ever had a dog that loved this unconditionally...you know.

Across the Spiderverse. Really think Sony has something here. Both of these movies are heads above Marvel's recent offerings.

Dude, why?
Shia wasn’t bad, Mark Walburgh was decent. But the acting was awful. Optimus was sort of pitiful the whole movie. Bumble Bee died and then became a badass when he was born again… which he isn’t known for. No Megatron. Scourge shouldn’t be that strong….

I think he means why would you watch a Transformers movie in the year of our Lord 2023.

Beast Wars was my favorite cartoon to watch before school in the mid to late 90’s

I’ll sit through the torture at some point for that reason alone. Nostalgia is a powerful drug.

(Words cannot express how much I am hoping it’s better than “Age of Extinction” and “Last Knight.” Both movies literally had me wondering “when is this supposed to be over?” and I honestly forgot the plot of both of them DURING the course of the movies)

Just got out of it with my 6 and 4 yo. My 4yo got a bit restless at times, but 6yo was enthralled the whole time.

Really, REALLY good, just like the first one.

Can’t believe that ending though, but glad it went that way. I was thinking to myself, “they’re about to rush this ending aren’t they?” Then… that.

Guardians of the Galaxy 3. If you see it in the theater, bring noise cancelling headphones. I could not believe how loud it was. Otherwise the movie was good fun like the first two. A bit long but otherwise very good.

For those who like horror mysteries, went to see The Boogeyman over the weekend; it was an adaptation of a Stephen King short story, pretty fun movie. Not "nightmare" material by any means but plenty of suspenseful scenes and a couple good jumps.

Tell us your old without telling us your old
As an old f'ing guy, I can tell you the ringing in my ears from playing Led Zepplen, The Who, Cream, etc. too loud when I was young is quite the enjoyable pleasure I could do without. ;)

P.S. Get off my f'ing lawn!

Are you the blue hair that yelled at me during an ND game for being too loud??
No. I was yelling for more screen passes. And if I had any hair it would have been during the Weis Era.

Two kids walking out behind us said it was loud and my kids thought it was louder than Quantumania on IMAX. It was excessive. I don't know if that was due to the film, the particular theater or both but you could not help but notice from the get go it was louder than you'd expect. The previews seemed like regular movie theater volume.

I left without saying asking to speak to a manager and have no intention of writing a strongly worded letter. I mentioned it here and didn't think much of it. #GenerationX
