From @mortreport and me: Eagles met with Notre Dame HC Brian Kelly, who is now out of country. Sides expect to revisit talks.

Keep laughing man. Seems Kelly is at least interested if he is revisiting talks when he gets back.

Jay Glazer, Mort, and Adam Schefter are the best at what they do. I'd be surprised if all their "sources" are getting bad info.

Because they're sources are saying Kelly has real interest in Eagles opening. Obviously, I hope they're wrong.

I'm with you. But when Glazer, Mort, and Schefter all report their is mutual interest. That is not something to laugh at. Hopefully it is just a bargaining tool to get a pay raise.

According to PFT, Kelly's name is already being linked to the Detroit Lions. That site is also ludicrous in that they will literally report anything, whether it is well sourced or not. But the takeaway is that you will continue to hear his name attached to these jobs going forward.

Shouldn't his name be brought up though. NFL teams wouldn't be doing their job if they weren't pursuing top coaching talent.

Frankly I don't see the attraction for Kelly in the NFL. His bread and butter, the offense, has been less than stellar here at ND. While the defense is certainly on the elite level, the NFL is all about offense.

Recruiting, developing, mentoring and overseeing a D1 college football program is tough enough.

Recruiting, developing, mentoring, overseeing... and actually winning at Notre Dame is a gauntlet like no other.

Kelly should be sought after for what he's been able to do at Notre Dame.
