My thoughts on current state of season: we lost to a conf champ, playoff participant, and 2 conf runner ups.

Two on the road with a first year starter, the other his first career start.

If that's the scenario you laid out for me this last summer before season I'm signing up. A bowl opponent I feel like we actually have a shot to beat is all the better.

The bowl game at a neutral site should help and I expect a competitive game.

However we got true freshman play from the qb position which just happens to be a 3rd year player.

So, based on this thread I shouldn't even watch the game because ND is going to lose 52-4?

Can we update the thread title to show the actual game our beloved Irish are playing in?

51-5. If ya gonna call me out, get it right!

What would you like the thread title to read?

What's up with putting LSU before ND in the body of the original post? You're with the home office, you can't be openly dis'n the home team.

Two ND safeties playing well this decade would be pretty remarkable to see.

If anyone is paying attention these two clubs are trending in the opposite direction.

Lsu had a horrible start to the season, but finished very strong losing only to Bama in a close game.

ND other the other hand............

Yes ND sucks and is spiraling down the drain. They are low energy as you continually remind us and were way out ahead of Kelly's admission. I'm so glad you post so much now a days. My house has never been cleaner.

Would shit myself if BK puts some miracle game plan together using both wimbush and book giving me flashbacks to '14 music City bowl with Zaire and Golson.

Book starts and Wimbush comes in to run the Wildcat plays.

Haven't seen enough of LSU this year to have formed much opinion of them (they beat Auburn though, huh?). But if they're a typical LSU team this comes down to our offensive line.
If we can run the ball like we did the first nine games, we should win. If not...

I like the fact that we have a month off. Felt pretty "banged up but playing" there the last few weeks. Also like the fact that this game is at 1:00. LSU is never quite as good in the daylight.

Very good defense for LSU, and better on offense than you would expect. Etling is a borderline top 10 QB.

Orgeron is a bad coach but his coordiantors are as good as it gets... with a month to prepare, Aranda will embarrass Long. Canada is good enough to put together a game plan to score on Elko's defense which will wear down as ND's offense continues to go 3-and-out.

I'll take LSU 38 Notre Dame 10. Game will be tight early and get out of hand in the second or third quarter.

Borderline top 10 QB? Lmao!!!! Come on man.

Keys to victory:
1. BW doesnt blow
2. Josh adams has some angels in the outfield type miracle game
3. BK is still drunk from partying on NYE and plays backups when BW and Adams dont compete.

I have watched LSU a handful of times. If we regain our health and the edge from the first half of the year, we win 27-17.

Derrius Guice vs. Josh Adams. Both should be pretty damn healthy. Question is if both play cause of NFL aspirations. Interesting to see come January 1. Should be some fun running football.

Wonder if Danny Etling grew up an ND fan? Nobody grows up in Indiana wanting to play football at IU or Purdue.

Hard to believe he was a starter at Purdue in 2013... when Tommy Rees was the starter for ND. He lost to Golson the next year in Indy going 27-40 for 234 yds, 2 TD's and thankfully 2 Int's.

It helps when 5 of your last 7 opponents are in the midst of replacing their head coaches.

Please no side to side plays. Have we learned anything this year?

The ability of Guice and Williams running the ball behind an improved OL has allowed the LSU QB to become way more efficient than earlier in the year. He isn't great but he can hurt you. The Irish defensive game plan is pretty simple. Shut down Guice and Williams and pressure the QB in to hopefully making mistakes.

LSU wins 21-20. They score on a pick 6, a muffed kickoff, and a blocked field goal.

Its easy to say things like ND rolls, or be overly optimistic. Who here is really going to bag on you if you are wrong...

I think it is reasonable to think ND could win by 3 or lose by 28. I seriously believe it Really depends on the first 3 series of the game...and if Wimbush gets off well, AAAAND the receivers catch the ball. If not Wimbush will go into his death spiral...play calling will get real predictable, and ND will get run right the hell off the field. Shrug.

ND is going to get embarrassed on a bigish stage again. It has nothing to do with LSU being some kind of juggernaut but everything to do with the culture of ND the past 25 years. 9-4 and another offseason of turmoil.
