You're among a minority on here. It wasn't "toolish" in the slightest. It was pretty corny and overall, not that good of a video, JMO, but this isn't just trash talking. Trash talking would be when Malik tweeted that we'd "get it done" and then Darron Lee responded "we'll be waiting". That's fine. This was done in poor taste and I severely hope Patchan gets in next year, so our OL can plant his sorry ass on the ground over and over and over. ND is full of tools, and they get the work done.

It doesn't matter. We all have our opinions on the video, but we are all glad that he is Irish. The one thing that the video showed me is that he thinks that he is a boss and I like that.

I'm an 18 year old kid, and I think the video was really douchey. It doesn't make me any less happy that he committed in the first place, though.

Holy Shit there's finally someone on this site that is younger than me.

I never said you had to like the video. I don't. Not because it's pretentious or "toolish", but it's just over the top and corny. It wasn't warranting of praise, but it definitely wasn't warranted of that dude's comments. That was totally uncalled for.

Well said. Hey...we need characters and we need swagger. He has both. I think he's going to back up his bravado. Teams have a way of reeling someone in if they get out of line or don't back up what they say.. He wrecks peolple in his tape and i think he's going to wreck people for us. I'm getting the sense that the Irish community was the only ones that saw it this video to any major degree. Let the guy have his day. It always amazes me that there is so much "noise" around a recruit and then we don't hear anything about them for two years as they fight their way thru the depth chart.

I know most of you are too young to know who Conrad Dobler is but I hope Parker is half the tool he was. Give me nasty every day of the week when it comes to an offensive lineman.

I mean damn, if I was a 4 star recruit and had random people begging me to go to their school on social media everyday it would definitely go to my head, too. I am a tool as is and that type of instant gratification wouldn't make it any better. Not condemning Boudreaux because I think he will be a great player for ND and he is probably a nice kid. I think these type of announcements will become more and more frequent as recruiting becomes a big business and social media continues to grow.

Keep this in mind too. I'm sure Bleacher Report approached him with the idea of doing this. Remember, Parker had 72 FBS offers, the most I can see ever offered a recruit. Fans from 72+ schools know who he is, he makes a lot of sense to test a new concept that I'll bet becomes a standard genre in the recruiting business. Parker will be to commitment videos what The Buggles were on MTV. It's a copycat world, if there is a camera on them, most guys do the tired azz 'pick a hat' since that became the thing while regurgitating the worn out... "First of all I'd like to thank God for this opportunity and now, I'll be taking my talents to...." just like LeBron. Boring.

Kinda odd you bring up the Buggles when I just got done watching a Yes documentary.

Me and Geoff Downes go way back! I saw that first video on MTV in '81 and I've seen Asia umpteen times. I was the definition of the MTV generation. It came on air as I was going into 9th grade.

That video made Parker look like a huuuge douche and tool. Idk if he actually is one but I'm sure some of our commits and players thought the same thing when they saw the video.

What's funny is he is our lowest rated OL recruit and made a video as if he were the best recruit ever.

A high school senior-TO BE, with arms like he's been working in Longo's program for 3 or 4 years, and a pretty lean waist for a lineman.

He doesn't run his mouth about national championships, playing time, nor post pictures with a porn star, nor a new car, nor a bag of money.

No 3 card monte hat routine, no national TV announcement, no announcement at his elementary school and then not showing up.

He wears his HS Tee shirt and reveals his choice in a clever way demonstrating his strength and determination where the rubber meets the road and he succinctly states:

I'd fight for The Irish any day!

May we be fortunate to get more like him! Welcome Parker!

I honestly do not understand nothing of what you guys are talking about.. what's wrong with the video? I did not see nothing to discuss about his attitude or whatever. B/R did a similar thing with Iman Marshall and i thought it was pretty cool.

BGIF, I could not agree more!!!! Reps sir!! I'm not very concerned with what he did and how he did it......to often we see kids with umpteen hats, and often with schools they were never going to attend, wads of cash, sports cars, limos......and on and on. The kid just made a lifetime decision, and I for one could really care less how he made it, just that he picked the right team!!!

For those of you who thing the video was douchey or whatever you need to get a reality check. The video was badass. I rather see that video 10 times compared to the boring lets have 5 hats out in front of us when in reality every knows what school i'm going to, or the kid who reaches for one hat and grabs another.

The hat game is "look at me pick a school."

Parker's video was "WATCH ME PICK A SCHOOL."

Some people don't like the loud, attention-grabbing stuff. No need for a reality check.

I really don't think this is that big of deal. Was it "cool" no, it was fairly ridiculous, but who cares. He's 17 years old and if this is the worst decision he's made so far in life then I'll think he'll be ok.

Also, to all of this garbage about him not being a "ND" kid. HH has been recruiting him for a long time and I think he would know what he's getting. As we can see from the recruits he's bringing in, they are not knuckleheads or problem guys.

Plus, worst case scenario, lets say he's a complete and total knucklehead: (1) He's an OL, so nobody cares; (2) he has talent in front of/behind him so nobody cares.

I don't think the criticism of that video is warranted at all. Was the video a little corny? Yes. Douchey? I don't think so. He was wasn't standing there providing a monologue about how awesome he is. He attempted to do something different and creative.

Parker's decision was on Bleacher Report though. How many people outside of Irish fans actually saw that?

It was #1 on their "Line-Up" trending column on their home page, same for their college football page where it's still #1. It's still front page on the CFB recruiting page even with Rivals releasing their Rivals 100 today and it was on at least the Florida, Clemson and Oklahoma team feeds. So A LOT of people saw it.

I knew that if one person would like it, it would have been you. Probably tweeted him asking for his autograph
