Fucking Flyers fans have no sense of humor... though in fairness getting your asses kicked for decades will do that to people.

Gotta get that initial post out of the way.....Hi everybody!

Great... Someone else to argue with Koon and get picked on by Wolly.

Welcome and good luck.

Welcome, care to share a little about yourself? We've pretty much bared our souls around here, so we need some dirt we can sling later. lol

Yea, I think I could pull that off.

Born in Indiana, grew up in So Cal. Serial mover in my adulthood, currently plant my flag in Colorado, by way of Arizona and Chicago.

Outside of ND football, lover of the World Champion Cubs & Bears, as well as a Colorado Rapids season ticket holder.

When asked the typical question, 'why are you a Notre Dame fan when you didn't even go there?' my stock answer is I'm an Irish Catholic from Indiana.

Could have been my exact life if I liked weed... or soccer.

Now to the important stuff:

Where in Indiana? Where in SoCal? Where in AZ?

and the $64,000 question -->

If ND & IU play in basketball, who ya pullin' for and why?

Not a weedie, so can't comment on that, but you're missing out on soccer. A lot like hockey, much more fun in person.

I'm from a large extended family out of Indy, that has mostly branched out to the rest of the country. We landed in Orange County, CA where I was until after college. Relocated to Scottsdale, AZ, killed some time in Anthem, AZ, before packing up and living in Chicago. Only left the greatest city on earth because of the fact that its hard to have a kid and live downtown. Didn't want to move to the 'burbs because (and no offense to anyone in here) we didn't want to just live in Illinois.

Can I abstain from the final question? I was raised to watch ND football in the fall and IU basketball in the winter. Came close to going to IU, toured the campus while in high school and went to a couple "meet & greets" they did for So Cal kids, before deciding to stay close to home. I hope for the day the National Championship game is ND vs IU, then maybe I'll pick a side.

Your attempt to abstain indicates you are in good hands here Joe.

My path is similar but jumbled, Gary/Michigan City, Hinsdale/Naperville, Scottsdale, OC (Aliso Viejo), back to Scottsdale last year... and ironically, heading to my buddy's in Anthem right now lol.

ND Football and IU Basketball here too and there are A LOT of like minded's here. Used to watch IU games (Mama's a grad) w/the alumni club in Laguna Woods at a bar called Players. I played basketball against ND and have never quite got over them being the enemy... though I'm working on it.

Used to watch ND Football games with the ND Club of OC at Silky Sullivan's in Fountain Valley. GREAT group of people there.

Irish#1 is our local Indy/Irish historian. He knows everything about both places as he was there when each property was purchased from the local Native American tribe.

No italics.

I know the south OC area quite well, Aliso Viejo included, having grown up in Rancho Santa Margarita.

Enjoy Anthem. One of the few things about living on the surface of the sun I enjoyed was being a little off the beaten path in Anthem.

I still have the thank you note given to me by Father Sorin after brokering the deal. Hard to keep parchment paper that old from crumbling.

Funny, I never look too far down the list of sub-forums... didn't know this thread existed.

Hello, all. I am a long-time lurker, and recent poster. I think I've been reading stuff on here for almost 10 years.

Never paid much attention to ND as a youngster, in fact I hated ND. I hated that NBC always had their damn games on. I even had a high-school teammate play for ND, but it wasn't until I became a student, myself, that I learned to appreciate everything that ND is.

I am an alumnus; one of the best decisions I ever made. The campus is magical -- so much history. Even more important, however, are the people. You become a part of the family, no matter how different you are.

I always recommend new posters to make sure they have a profile pic so you stand out from the crowd. Lets us all get to know you better.

Great time to jump in. I think this is going to be a very interesting few months. Good or bad idk.

Hey everyone! glad to be back on here. have not posted in a couple years (former handle was Domer_Nurse09) but have always followed the boards since probably 2010ish. By far the greatest Notre Dame message board online. We are very fortunate to have this as an avenue to talk ND athletics and really any sports in general.

Welcome back.

lol lifes good. working long hours as a nurse and have a now 6 month old keeps things busy and interesting. I'm always dropping in to see what conversations are going on but found myself falling way behind. Hopefully be able to be more involved moving forward. you all are awesome. We reference the board quite a bit on the podcast I host. As I said on another thread I literally have no clue why it took me THIS long to drop back in with you all. thanks for the welcome.
