Dshans Alive and Well ... For A Codger

I spoke with dshans today. He hasn't logged on since August. I've missed his quick wit and him keeping us on our toes grammatically.

We met at the ND/Navy game a few years ago. He was nice enough to pick me up at the airport and chauffeur me around. We had more than a few beers that afternoon in Atlantic Beach talking ND football, him meeting Fr Ted, Dick's a Domer, and watching an hour or two of the Blue Angels flying right over us practicing for their air show that weekend. The Angels and support crew were staying at my hotel. After the game the next day I met the Flight Surgeon who asked me about the game. Turns out he was also a Domer who did Pre-med at ND while in Navy ROTC. But I digress.

Today I remembered I had dshans phone number from that trip so I gave him a call. He's doing fine for a geezer. He's been away from the board due to IE burnout. Too many hours a day on IE. He said he's been thinking about logging back on for a visit but has been wary about getting addicted again, IE can have that effect.

Thanks for the update. He lives in Jax. I’m hoping to hook up with him and have a beer when we go down to visit our son.

I don't know, but the obituary page said in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a suicide prevention site.

I don't remember seeing it. I first came in touch with Stoney on Goldhelmet.com. Great poster. RIP

Aaron my understanding is he had been battling cancer (not sure what type). He was only 50 years old. He was divorced w/ at least one son. Ironically, he died one year ago today. RIP Stoney.
