Why I am a fan of Cleveland Sports?

What does that have to do with anything? The Lebrons still lose to OKC, San Antonio and certainly the Warriors in the Finals.

BTW...Pacers have held their own quite well against the Lebrons. Without looking at it, I'm sure they beat them at least a couple of times.

The Cavs swept OKC this year so by your first point, your Pacers point is a waste of server space.

I like Indianapolis a lot, and I'll defend it against criticism from people back on the East Coast (where I'm from) but I do think it's pretty hard to criticize Cleveland without also criticizing Indy. Cleveland has one of the top hospitals in the country and one of the finest orchestras in the world. Indy has a place where you can watch cars drive in a circle for an hour.

Pray the Commish doesn't instruct the refs to let the Cavs win. It's in their best interest for LeBron to get one in Cleveland and build that Steph - LeBron rivalry. The history of the cross country rivalry is the only reason the League is what it is today.

Thank you and I appreciate your opinion. Guess it's just not for everyone. I find Cleveland to be a city on the up and up. Back in the 70s and 80s I would have agreed that Cleveland was not the cleanest of cities but it's come a long way. I apologize for coming off as an ass hole but I do love me some Cleveland and pray I get to see a championship in my lifetime. Cleveland is starving for a championship of some kind.

I personally like Cleveland better than Indy, but wouldn't go out of my way to convince someone either is a prime destination, unless you are from there and enjoy the familiarity and nuances they both offer.

Thanks for the link, that finally got me to see it. It's crazy, if you grew up near Cleveland, even if you didn't experience everything that happened (I was too young to remember the Drive and the Fumble, for one, let alone wasn't alive for the Jim Brown days) you KNOW about the history because of family. The near misses and legacies get passed down. There wasn't a whole lot of new information in the 30 for 30 for me, and yet you do get to see a lot of emotion from the players, the coaches, the civic leaders, and the fans that have lived through the heartbreak. I laugh anytime I hear a fan from another town complain about their team(s), they have no idea what it's like to have 3 major teams and go 50+ years since a championship in ANY of those sports.

It feels like they tried to paint Modell in a neutral light, but it's hard for any Cleveland fan to accept that. I'm sure most Cleveland fans will never forget that iconic Sports Illustrated cover with an Art Modell cartoon sucker punching the Browns fan. Some of my earliest memories as a "Cleveland" kid was Bernie leading the Browns. I remember how pissed people were when Testaverde took over at QB, but honestly Bernie's best days were probably behind him at that point as he had taken one to many shots. I remember going to a lot of games at Municipal Stadium when I was really young to see the Indians, and then a few games at the Jake before we moved to Dayton. Never could bring myself to root for the Reds or the Bengals down here, and never will. I think it's just part of the culture, you're born into it and it becomes a part of you. I honestly don't follow Cleveland teams as passionately as I used to. For one, I don't have the time to be as hardcore these days, and two...the Irish give me enough stress in my life I could never root against them, and could never root for another city's pro teams. The closest I'll come is rooting for Irish alumni.

If you aren't from Cleveland or the surrounding areas, I'm not sure you can appreciate just what a great sports town Cleveland is, or at least used to be. (I left Northeast Ohio 27 years ago and haven't lived there since) Cleveland fans are generally very knowledgeable about their sport. And that knowledge is generally not just related to the hometown team. Many of them can, or could, give you the general history of most other teams in the league as well. They put fans in the seats, win or lose, as long as they aren't embarrassing(I'm looking at you, Ted Stepien). And they are generally realistic about their expectations. I'm not sure, given the fans' general love of the Manziel pick at the time, that this is still the case. But Cleveland traditionally has been a GREAT sports town.

We love them because we haven't seen them on the field yet and still have hope that somehow they will actually turn out to be a good pick.

You're always supposed to support your starting QB, but the Manziel pick just made zero sense to the competent fan, I couldn't understand the love. A lot of Cleveland fans (Who will remain nameless) embraced him because they thought they should, or they got caught up in the hype, but that's what Cleveland does.
