How much do you pay for cable/internet?

I just switched to Xfinity and their platform is light years ahead of some of the other options I've had in the past. Very interactive and user friendly. I had WOW! Cable and internet for 3 years and then they jacked my prices up monthly after my contract expired.

I'm paying about $155 but that's including three cable boxes, HBO, DVR, NFL Network, BTN, ESPN U etc + Internet.

I've heard the nightmares about their customer service but 4 months in I've been very happy.

Those that mentioned YouTube TV... is that something that gives you regional choice or is it set to your region... meaning can I get local broadcasts of Browns game in El Paso or am I stuck with the Cowboys every week if I get YT TV?

While streaming makes sense for 98% of people, ACamp seems way too high maintenance to deal with the 1 or 2 issues that pop up on an annual basis with streaming.

Acamp, you should stick with the big $180 comcast package.

Are you actually able to watch tv shows at the time they would air on dish or cable or are they only available at a later time/date?

You can watch them in real time as if it was on cable.

Reddit has cracked down on posting streams. For NFL games there is a discord that will have games posted every week.

For baseball or hockey games look into an app called Lazyman. There's a pretty good subreddit that deals with any tech issues or install tutorials.

I'm at $55/mo for internet and rely on reddit streams for live sports. Baseball is a breeze, and most of the time CFB/NFL is smooth. Occasionally gets choppy, but mostly good.

Otherwise, I've got a local antenna ($20-30), and a parent who loves having accounts and sharing (Hulu, Netflix, AmazonPrime w HBO & Showtime), so that ties up all other entertainment needs.

I was with Comcast for about six years. I started out at $115 a month and at the end I was at $185. I was very happy with them until they refused to give me a better rate. They are more interested in signing new customers instead of retaining existing customers.

Truth, although that's pretty much true of most cable/satellite companies. Typically if you say you're cancelling they'll try to offer you a deal for 3 or more months to get you to stay though.

Depends on the tech you have available. Chromecast is how I do, streaming it to my TV but an HDMI would work just as well

This is exactly what happened to me when I was with WOW! cable/internet. Once my two year contract was up they bumped me from about $140 to $165. Got me on a 12 month contract for $150, then that went up to $185. Had enough and called Xfinity and they hooked me up nicely, but I'm aware there are more than likely headaches looming.

I don't know that I could go without cable, so I will just continue to switch companies every few years I guess.

Best guess would be it's regional based on your I, no choice in th matter. If so, could always use a VPN to emulate a different region.

I believe you set your home area when you sign up, so if you have someone that lives in Ohio that could set up your account you would be good to go as long as someone in that area logs in one every 3 months to keep it updated. Or you could find someone that has YouTube TV in Ohio and borrow their log in...

I have the Hulu app on my TV but I haven't ever had a subscription. My brother signed in on my TV and I can see the movies/shows he has access to but no TV stations.

I'm assuming he has the lower tier subscription? If so, when i create a new account/subscription, it should display the live TV channels I can choose from, yes?

Directv had gotten up to $150 a month and that is without any premium channels. Got tired of that and switched to Hulu live for $60 ($50 plus extra $10 for unlimited screens, additional cloud space, etc.). We love it and will never look back.

What do you pay for broadband? Once the prices started going up at all of the DMVPDs, I found it was cheaper to just go back to Comcast. I'm at $112 a month with cable and internet after all taxes and fees.

I have MLB TV for my Halo games. It works very well and is super convenient and easy to use but there is lag. If my phone is near me I know when something is about to happen before it happens. I'll get an alert on my phone about three/four seconds before it happens on MLB TV. I'll be watching, big at bat, game riding on it and my phone goes off and I either celebrate or curse before the pitcher even delivers...

I watched on Sling for two years (with shit internet, no less), and never really had this issue.

Any time I noticed a lag between what I was seeing and how people were reacting on Twitter, I'd reload the stream and it would catch back up. And I think the lags only developed from 'regional' commercial breaks acting funny via the streaming service.

Hulu may just be different, though.

(And even I was paying for Hulu Live or Youtube TV, I'd still just get the $10 digital antenna and switch to that for ND football on NBC. Crystal clear, and no reliance on internet.)

But for real, everyone should sign up for Hulu. It's the best thing ever (and soon to be a wholly owned subsidiary of Disney Direct-to-Consumer & International).
