I knew ND Nation dot com was a cesspool of empty-headed lemmings, but to compare a story that is remotely positive (and it's positive because it's based in FACT! With numbers!) to Nazi propaganda?

Even ND Nation have jumped the shark and become a caricature of themselves.

NDN has some of the saddest humans you'll ever encounter. Their lives have to be absolutely miserable. They're a combination of lost hope, ire and odd sexual frustrations.

I'm guessing many of them did a very poor job at parenting and are trying to suppress their guilt. In reality, one trip over there makes me appreciate everything I have so much more. I hope they find something meaningful :/

family just had the annual ticket draft. pretty excited.

I ended up with Stanford with the 3rd pick.

Mom ususally takes me with her to her game (Ball State) and cousin and I usually do a 1 for 1 tag along (he grabbed Pitt).

My cousin who had the first pick, ended up asking if I would go along with him to Michigan game.

Not too shabby of a season for this guy.

I get the ND has some unique challenges, but how in the world can we justify a salary that is double of the person in the #2 slot.

The only reasonable justification I've seen is that because ND is Independent, Swarbs essentially needs to take on the responsibilities a conference commissioner normally would, such as negotiating TV deals.

Still too much, IMO.

His actual salary is below $1 million. It's the "other university compensation" amount and the breakdown of how that compensation is earned is what I would find interesting. He does carry the title of VP along with his AD job description. I would imagine he is involved in more at ND then just simply all things athletics.

Frankly, even without full detail of the other university compensation, I think he is worth every penny. Savvy Jack is the man.

Jack has been around for 10 years. What's the tenure of the other ADs?

Jim Phillips of NW, also 10 years.
Barry Alvarez, AD of Sconny for 14 years.
Kevin White, who was replaced by Jack, also a tenure of 10 years.
Kirby Hocutt, tenure of 7 years at Texas Tech, guns up!
Chris del Conte, <1 year as AD at UT.
Gene Smith, AD at pOSU for 13 years.
Greg Byrne, AD at Bama for 1 year.

If that's the litmus test, then the Stanford AD should make $10M per. They've won every Sears Cup (except the first one) going back to the 80's or 90's.

Add in he keeps the old ball team independent, making boat loads of money, and with a national appeal still.

Oh he's worth the money, no doubt. $3M to oversee a billion dollar brand is a bargain. The fact that he's a corporate teflon lawyer type sent over from central casting makes him even more yummy.

I think I remember seeing that the staff is doing away with Irish Invasion and going a different route, but looking at their camp schedule I could see the third weekend in June being a popular weekend for some recruits aka some more offers going out.

Why would they do away with Irish Invasion? I feel it was gaining momentum as a big summer event. As the team gets better and more recognition so will it's camps like Friday Night Lights, The BBQ, etc. Bummed if they are doing away with the title.

I actually feel the opposite. The summers are becoming too crowded, see I think it was last year's Rivals camp in Indianapolis the same weekend. Irish Invasion was good for guys like Stepherson and Moala for getting offers, but the big name guys were not really coming on campus en masse.

II was pretty lame. turnout's were poor because of clashes with Rivals events etc. Official visits in the spring made it obcelete.
