Yeah, it really doesn't do Wardlow justice, because it doesn't really go into much detail about how raw he is. I do think Wardlow is one of the more underrated players in the 2017 class overall, but there's a reason for that. He's barely played the game and it shows on film. He's very athletic and he can get after it, but he simply doesn't have a lot of football experience and he's still learning the game.

Not only that, but I don't see Wardlow as a Rover. I mean, he was 230 as a high school senior, and I imagine he'll be a good bit bigger going into Fall Camp. I think he's a drop end, simple as that. That's where his physical traits best project.

Yeah, that one was bad.

His recent stuff is 100x better. Give him a chance.

(Still don't agree with tweeting at recruits)

The Noah guy at Slap doesn't do much football writing, he handled basketball.

Oh snap I didn't even realize that wasn't Sinclair. I thought that was just one of his first big articles, but it wasn't even him lol.

The 2017 "The Shirt" will be revealed today at 6. They need a good design this year after last year's sub par design.

They should make it red to fit in with the swarm of Dawgs fans that will invade the stadium September 9

Good to know you don't carry the dinosaur virus.

Are you referring to Lenzy referencing Cota by name publicly as an infraction? Because I believe that is only current players of said program. I don't believe that relates to committed prospects of said program, but I could be wrong.

Not sure if of any interest but ... folks have intuitively felt that recruiting is 9/10ths of the game when it comes to ultimate record and others believe that player development is equally and more important. The following facts don't answer that question for me, but maybe they'll help someone else answer it.

The numbers below represent the number of players drafted by the NFL (a fairly certain estimation about how well the NFL thinks they played), and adds these numbers together for two years --- that should (roughly) give estimates of how many NFL-ready players existed on a college team as "juniors and seniors" in a given season --- I realize that even earlier departures happen, but these numbers should tell how many "veteran leader athletes" are on a given team for the season listed.

In alphabetical order, seasons 2009 through 2015 ( last season can't be added yet since we don't know how many will be drafted next year to make the seniors-plus-juniors number --- i.e. we had two drafted from the 2016 team, and IF we have four from the 2017 team, the 2016 team's NFL-quality veterans would number "6" --- a low number for a powerhouse, and maybe a reason how you could slip to a losing record.) -----------

Alabama: 12 // 20 // 24 // 17 // 15 // 14 // 17. (i.e. season 2009 // 2010 // 2011 // 2012 // 2013 // 2014 // 2015 )
Clemson: 11 // 10 // 8 // 9 // 11 // 15 // 15.
FlaState: 6 // 7 // 15 // 18 // 18 // 13 // 6.
Georgia: 11 // 13 // 15 // 10 // 7 // 10 // 6.
L--S--U : 12 // 11 // 14 // 18 // 13// 9 // 13.
Michigan: 5 // 5 // 5 // 5 // 6 // 6 // 14.
Notre D : 5 // 5 // 10 // 14 // 9 // 8 // 9 .
Oklahom: 11 // 11 // 13 // 10 // 9 // 10 // 8.
OhioStU: 9 // 10 // 7 // 9 // 11 // 17 // 19.
Penn Sta: 8 // 6 // 7 // 6 // 6 // 8 // 6 .
Stanford: 7 // 8 // 7 // 9 // 12 // 11 // 7.
U--S--C : 16 // 12 // 7 // 7 // 9 // 10 // 9 .

.... Meyer's numbers are a bit shocking --- we'll see about Harbaugh's. Swiney also created instant juice.

Can't believe there have been two recent dumpster fires outside of our stadium, and yet no one seems to have captured either on video. The meme potential is huge.

We should put NDgradstudent on retainer. We all know he is capable documenting (ahem) negative ND actions on campus in the snow so it shouldnt be too much difference at the stadium capturing physical eveidence confirming his antiND stance.

Bad omen...

But in all honesty, if history is any indicator with Kelly, he'll keep the playbook light for Wimbush. Wimbush will step up to the plate and succeed well. Then next year Kelly will open it up and Wimbush will crumble. Meanwhile the new defense will stymie teams at the beginning of the year at least, while the efficient offense will help keep the D off the field and rested. Next year will be a different story. In short, I expect a decent turn around this season.

No you guys, this is good.

Get the dumpster fires out of the way now, that way the team is good to go.

Most if not all of those schools have full administrative cooperation for their coach---only Penn State and Notre Dame struggle against their own administration at times and even Stanford has something going on that IMO is not as high profile as they would have you think. The other places are just win at any cost college football teams.

Yes. The numbers are still intriguing to me though. I note that the ND 2012 team had the most of these NFL-quality vets by far of any of our teams, and that it was fourth on that list that year (behind Alabama, LSU, FSU.) Because I believe that Kelly does develop players well (others will disagree, I suppose), I see these numbers as telling me that it is very unlikely that ND can compete with some of these other people unless we have unusually great recruiting for a few years in a row. We're "very good" recruiting --- especially given the "you have to go to class" limitation --- but these other guys get a third greater head start without even earning it.

.... and things like Alabama having a team one of those years with 24 NFL-draftable veterans on it (not counting the sophs and freshmen) is (in some sense) appalling. They couldn't even get them all on the field.

.... and Meyer comes in and booms out the third and fourth highest numbers on the list almost immediately. Since he recruits, at an advantage, our greatest hot-bed, I think that ND fans should be a little kinder to Kelly and his staff. I believe that most of them, and himself, work their butts off to get us as far as we get.

.... and USC will rouse to meet OSU and Alabama, you can count on that if they ever stabilize their coaching.

In my opinion, and the reason that I did and still do hold out real hope for ND-Kelly, is that the underdog can beat the brute by having a more ingenious plan or scheme, and a great quarterback. We lacked the (potentially) great QB until Kizer (hopefully now Wimbush) and the hugely disappointing Defensive Scheme (due to Van Gorder and hopefully that too will get fixed by Elko.) With Kelly and Long's ingenious O-scheme, and Elko's D-scheme, "all" we need is a little settling in time and Wimbush standing tall, and maybe the "9's" in the above list can beat the "17's".

Are each team's NFL draftees counted twice? With the year prior and year after?

Reps for all the work!
