General team info

I can understand why the assumptions are being made.

One guy got kicked out.

One guy hasn't yet returned to practice.

The others were back at practice.

Based on degrees of punishment, you can kind of fit things together there, if you're interested in jumping to conclusions.

Coney has not returned to practice? I thought it was reported that all four were at practice on Monday.

I have a question for you boys cause I honestly don't know. How good is Studstill? Will he be able to handle it? And what do you guys think of the depth behind him?

Undoubtedly Studstill is a better free safety that Redfield. Not the athlete Max is, but super instinctual, and smart enough to master the defense, he was going to be the guy, but a few things like senior leadership, and coaches big hearts got in the way, according to most of what I have heard.

I really don't think we can speculate on what was or wasn't Redfields. I believe he was released from the team based on too many transgressions. Whether he was "guilty" of having the gun or the weed didn't matter. He was supposed to be a senior leader and not be in that kind of situation based on his past mistakes.

its been pretty commonly reported it wasn't his gun.

There was a post yesterday (although only around for about a minute) that the gun most likely belonged to a PAST team member.

Speaking of said post. In the posting rules, i didnt see anything wrong with the post removed.

Sources were provided, and it seemed as or more legit than half the rumors that have been posted in relation to this situation. But I digress.

Anyways, the gun certainly doesn't appear to legally belong to any individual in the car. Could non-legal ownership have passed from one person to a person in that car, absolutely. I just dont think the comments of the gun not legally belonging to anyone in the car are legit, not speculation.

It’s not so much the uncertainty at quarterback as the bad vibes I picked up from Malik Zaire and DeShone Kizer at Brian Kelly’s decision. Now, the news was still raw at that point and maybe they’re over it already. And maybe Kelly settles on one after the Texas game and that storyline becomes moot. But I could see where the whole thing becomes a season-long distraction. But also, that was just one piece of the evaluation. I attended practice, and the overall athleticism out there did not reflect a top-four team. In fact, I was more impressed by Louisville, which I saw two days before that. (You’ll see that story soon.)

From Stewart Mandel on why he picked ND to win only 8 or 9 games.

FEI's projected record distribution is a lot more pessimistic than mine:
