Smith, Russell, Fuller, Folston, Trumbetti, Luke, Stanley, and that's with out thinking.

He said it, not me. I'm not making it up. I'm not trolling, it was a legit statement to be offended about. Our best linebacker in decades looks like, not a great sec backer, but simply a starter. So this is the case or our team isn't as talented as we think. Neither is very good.

You guys are starting to pile on and reading into things now so you can getme banned.

No offense Stormy, but for you to maintain that as a quote you need to do this :

" . . . he looks like an SEC linebacker!"​

Because it was purposely said with emphasis as a cliché, just like "twice the athlete," and was the second half of a statement. THE FIRST HALF STATED THAT HE WAS TWICE THE ATHLETE OF A LINEBACKER THAT COULD HAVE PLAYED FOR ANY SCHOOL IN THE NATION. Otherwise a person is taking that half out of context, as you did.

Let alone the fact that even the author used the article to frame the reference, comparing Smith to the very best of the SEC linebackers (ever.) Get it?

So that is not what the article said (at all). It was half of the quote that started out how this coach thought he was twice the athlete of T'eo, and then the article immediately went on to stress the comparison between Smith, and the best SEC linebacker ever.

That is why people think you are a troll. It could as well be a learning disability, stupidity, or ignorance.

Only time will tell.

Or, "he looks like an SEC ____" is an over-used phrase, and you're really that tone-deaf as to not see why it's straight up bullshit? Or at least to see why we take exception to it?

Or are you so negative that you just buy-in to the most negative connotation of this anonymous coach's quote, in order to discuss how much talent ND lacks?

Your either a troll or your very very stupid.

We take offense because saying "he's an SEC type athlete" is a stupid label that gets slapped on every talented kid from every conference in the country. It's annoying because it implies exactly what you take at face value. If you honestly think that Jaylon Smith would be considered a "normal starter" on Ole Miss/Tennessee/Arkansas/Texas A&M/Mississippi St./South Carolina/Florida/LSU/Kentucky/Vanderbilt/Auburn you're high.

If the "SEC type kid" label was correct the SEC West wouldn't have had a train ran on them this bowl season.

Maybe I just read it wrong. It was dark and I was riding shotgun in a car. I'm just tired of the whole 'he's so good he could be playing in the sec' crap.

We just beat LSU in a bowl game with a young depleted team. Hopefully that's a sign of things to come.

You took a small quote about Jaylon being a stud, and used it to yet again slam Notre Dame's team. Your cell phone and where you were sitting in a car has nothing to do with you slamming ND's players.

Not slamming. I love our players and want to see them do well. I guess I jumped conclusions in my thinking that that the coach said we have one sec caliber linebacker and he is the best player on our team. I thought we had way too much talent to lose to the likes of Pitt and Northwestern. So either we don't after all or we do and they were really bad losses.

I'm not sure which it is anymore. I do know that Kelly said that they have to do a lot better as coaches and maybe that's why we had so much turnover this season.

Plus the beat was bumping, the music was high and this girls hand was steadily up my thigh. She had opened up 3 buttons on her shirt so far. I guess that's why I just hit submit :)

Trolling once again ruins thread for everybody else looking for team information and seeing bumps..... I wish that I could contribute some "general team information" right now but I cannot. I'll toss out some truths though:

Matt Hegarty forgoes his final opportunity at Notre Dame because he pretty much KNOWS he won't play much barring injury and SIGNS UP WITH OREGON. Everett Golson does the same and signs with Florida State. Hmmmm.... wonder if Oregon or Florida State could beat any SEC teams? Probably not, they now have Notre Dame players on them.

Notre Dame has so many "SEC-Quality" players on our roster that, "gee guys I'd never thought of this", we were and are rated ahead of almost all of them last year and this. "Gosh, it must be a mistake!"

We are going to have several players on our roster this year who are going to make pro teams deliriously happy --- but but but says the person who seems unable to keep two thoughts together in sequence to reach conclusions. {any relation to persons living or dead is purely coincidental.}

Thank God we have few SEC-type players considered as whole persons, as our players will actually graduate and be able to manage signing bonuses, social media, and complete sentences. ... all while knocking other people's blocks off on the field.

Stanford... Why is Vegas so high on a team with 43 nicklebacks? They'll have to line up their SS at NG. check

October 17th.... The Play In for the Play offs.
