So with the BCS era over, I can no longer expect us to make the BCS every year. Playoffs and 10+ wins will be the new expectation. Yearly. These tweets lead me to believe BK doesn't have a problem with my expectation.

Trouble is, 10 wins doesn't make the playoffs. Even 11's no guarantee. You'll need 12, or 11 with some impressive victories and a not-so-bad loss. Getting to the playoff is a much higher bar than getting to a BCS bowl (which is a bar we haven't hit much lately).

I should have provided more context. He made the above statement and also said we could easily have been 10 win team this year.

Gotcha that puts it in better context thanks. But still, talk like that is imho, pretty ridiculous. I mean, how many teams could say the same exact thing! Its football, a few plays here or there make or break BCS runs. Look at Alabama, on play and everything would be different, I doubt Saban is saying, well we could easily have been undefeated.
Its just a pointless statement that means nothing.

I don't dare enter the Just out of Curiosity (President) thread so I'll post this here.

Governor Christie of NJ's daughter was accepted to ND and I believe she is locked into going (my dad is the source). Christie has a decent shot to be the Republican nominee in the next election. Would be kind of cool to have another President who is an ND fan in the oval office.

Please don't expand this into a discussion about politics in any way. Just thought it was interesting...

And where you get slotted early in the pools will be critical. It's too hard to move up from 15-25 unless you go undefeated.

Interesting read. ND apparently more impressive than we may have realized over these past four seasons:

Beyond the Box Score with Brian Fremeau: Schedule Strength | Notre Dame Football Blog

Notre Dame is the only team on this list that has not played an FCS opponent in the last four seasons. Against opponents that have won at least seven FBS games, Notre Dame has played more games (23) than any other team ranked among the top-30 in winning percentage. Notre Dame is tied with Stanford and Ohio State with the most wins (10) in the last two seasons against opponents with seven or more FBS victories.

That's what it's looking like, I was just about to post this too. Alford wouldn't deny it, which is good, and I guess it hinges on Armando not getting a shot with the NFL. I wonder what the cutoff for that would be? Off season, fall?

That wasn't official. That website ran the same exact thing about BVG last week. He was offered and accepted the position, verbally. Neither has been officially announced yet though, right?

Top 10 redshirt freshmen ready to become breakout stars in 2014 | FOX Sports on MSN
Greg Bryant, RB, Notre Dame

Tim O’Malley/Scout.com
The former four-star American Heritage School (Delray Beach, Fla.) prospect made a move up the depth chart early last season, appearing in the Irish season opener against Temple before having his season truncated by a minor knee procedure.

Bryant turned heads as an impact scout team running back thereafter for head coach Brian Kelly and was among those regularly mentioned by teammates (including exiting NFL-bound nose guard Louis Nix) as a key player to watch for 2014.

Expect Bryant to team with fellow Floridian four-star running back Tarean Folston to form a formidable 1-2-3 punch for the Irish in a backfield that also returns its leading rusher, the less-heralded Cam McDaniel (705 yards, 4.6 per rush in 2013).

Lol, yeah. I was conflicted a) where to put this, and b) if I should even post it all.

I figured it was too funny not to throw it out there.

(I appreciate your final decision!)

Wondering if someone can help me out w something. I remember a while back someone posted a link that allowed you to see a panoramic picture inside ND Stadium during any specific game. You could actually scroll around the stadium using your mouse to view where you were sitting. Anybody remember that? Can I get a link? Appreciate any help.
