Thanks guys i really will take what you said to heart. I want to check out other schools so I will. I just miss the city growing up in Chicago
See unfortunately I've never had the pleasure of being on the Notre Dame CampusAs you know, I'm moving out from L.A. to South Bend. L.A. just isn't right for me and my family anymore, but that doesn't mean I'll hate on anyone for moving out here. For me, it's always been about personal happiness. When I was single, L.A. was perfect for me. Buut with a family, and with a great opportunity to have my daughter grow up in a much slower-paced, family atmosphere, it was a no-brainer.
It's crazy - when I told people out here that I was moving from CA, I thought they'd say I was nuts for leaving here. But almost to a person they totally agreed with my decision. In fact, many people expressed interest in doing the exact same thing, but they have family roots holding them down. The problems with L.A. include the traffic, too many damn people, too damn expensive, the smog, Hollywood (the Brittany Spears effect it has on girls), the insanely rude/indifferent people, etc.
But L.A. also has so many good things about it - the weather, the beach, the mountains, so many things to do, all different kinds of people, the women, etc. So it really comes down to personal preference. If that's your dream, let nothing stop you. There's a lot to love out here, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
Now, I'm with LAX on this thing though: USC is NOT a pretty campus, and it's in a sh!tty, crime-ridden area. I work across the street from USC, so I should know. The buildings all pretty much suck, except for the film building (which was donated b/c of a bet between George Lucas and Steven Speilberg, ehich Speilberg lost. Speilberg used his own architect instead of the ones who built the rest of USC's drab buildings). But the women are friggin' unreal. I don't blame 18 year-old kids for falling in love with the women, the lifestyle, the parties, the winning football tradition, the celebrities, etc. It's hard to turn down if you're not looking for a top-flight education (they don't educate their players nearly the same as ND, Stanford etc).
Still, F U$C...
My close buddy from high school played baseball for Pepperdine in the 4 years following their 1992 NCAA championship. So we used to go down there when we were in college and take batting practice in the off-season and shag fly balls and sh!t. It was awesome. Nothing beats hitting BP, with the centerfield fence overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
Pepperdine is beautiful, no doubt, but ND is still the most beautiful campus I've ever seen...

Wait..... WHAT!?!?!
I got into Penn State, and was about to go there.
Penn State is my 2nd most hated school behind Michigan.
You are still around?
Since this is becoming a confessional . . . I was very seriously considering applying to USC for law school and very well almost attended Michigan for the same.
If I remember correctly the Phamer got into Penn.University of Chicago has a good law school. Michigan usually has a good law school too so I couldn't fault you for that. If you are looking out west for one, Cal Berkeley is top one too.

go to law school in Wisconsin, you don't have to take the bar if you graduate from a Wisconsin law school.
GB - Marquette may have decent sports marketing programs. Seems I saw something to that effect a few years ago. Good guy/girl ratio too. Kind of USC light when it comes to the probability of hearing gun shots and the weather obviously sucks.
Seems to me there has to be places on the east coast supplying Bristol with a steady supply of interns. Another in-road in transition may be these conference networks. Big Ten network for example. Hitting it off in that field is seems very much about networking.
.....The Claremont colleges (private) are good too. Man there's like a million colleges in the LA area.
Los Angeles is the arm pit of California.
This. I just graduated in Chicago and the whole studying for the bar experience is a nightmare.
Still, practicing law in Chicago vs. practicing in Wisconsin is the back end of that whole deal too.
And on another note how do you insert gifs?
Just go through and put the URL of the .gif as if you were inserting an image. In other words, click the insert image button and copy the URL of the .gif into there.
Thanks brotha! Everyday I find a new feature on this site

NO MORE GIFs!!! A simple jpeg will do.
GIFs overstay their welcome quickly and gum up loading time on my ancient system. A jpeg comes (and goes) quickly.
I'll ditch my archaic Mr. Natural sig if all of you will "sunset" your (quickly) passe GIFs.
ND fan or not, if I got an acceptance letter to UM law, I'd be over the moon.
Football season would be rough though.
