I've been watching reaction videos of Arya killing the Night King from GoT watch parties (there are a LOT of watch parties in bars... I need to find one of those).

Generally everyone goes "Yeahhhhhh... noooooooo.... silence.... YEAHHHHHH"

But you can always see like two or three dudes who don't react at all, or kind of shake their head, or even look perplexed.

I saw one, which I'm trying to find again, where a guy literally gets up and walks out amidst his friends that are celebrating and cheering.

Those guys are Greyhammer, Whiskey and Gattaca lol.

Bro...

Also, watch parties are for poors, so no wonder people at watch parties liked it. People at watch parties don't pay for their own HBO and they also likely can't read, so...

I was getting a lot of "Yas Queen" vibes from some of the ladies in the reaction videos. Definitely a feminist contingent that loved Arya as a hero for no other reason than she has a vagina.

She also stabbed a man.

Guys I'll be honest. I just watched the preview for S8E4 for the first time. Every other episode I couldn't wait to get a glimpse of what's next. But after that complete let down last week I'm just not that excited. Of course I'll watch but after having the most anticipated episode ever shake out that way I'm just not feeling it.

Btw, I was not at a a watch party but I was one of those guys thinking to myself...Really? Are you kidding me?...after Arya stuck him with the pointy end.

I don't think this show is for everyone, some of you should move on

The bright side is that moving on from the show doesn't prevent one from posting in this thread...... confirmed.

For fun, I went back to see if I could pinpoint the moment when Wiz went from being a "fan" to full on hate watching/hate posting about this show. Turns it was more of gradual decline starting when the show began moving past the books...

GRRM did an interview the other day for something or other, and he said he's speeding up his writing. Winds of Winter in 2014 hopefully....

I also have some Mandella effect going on here as I totally remember reading the first book or two PRIOR to the show coming out. A fantasy loving friend of mine recommended the series and I started reading and then my wife got into the show. Reading back at the start of the thread I clearly started reading after season 1 debuted. I guess my buddy turned me onto the books because of the show but I totally don't remember it that way... lol

Well after 8 seasons and just 3 episodes left, I doubt anyone is just going to actually quit watching.

People are just disappointed. I am one of them. The first two episodes were set-up episodes, we get all this talk about the biggest battle scene ever, and then...that was it? It got over-hyped and the balloon is deflating. Everyone just wants what was and should be an epic story to remain just that.

Having fun with it all: Everything from Bran's fall on was all a dream while in a coma.. the last scene is a fantasy "Newhart" reveal where Bran gets up, walks out and sees Jamie and Cersei staring at him cold from across the courtyard.... credits.

There's also the thing where endings are generally the worst part of any long story. Naturally the set-up/middle of any big epic is generally more enjoyable. Set-Up is world building/learning rules/meeting characters and all that fun stuff. Middle is the time for good mid-game twists/culling of characters/plot developments. The end of any saga usually boils down to one or two important plot branches that naturally get more limited in what can actually be done as they reach their conclusion. There's a reason that in nearly every trilogy the last book/movie is considered the worst. The narrative has been boxed in at that point and there's much less room for surprises and developments.

Which is why my primary issue at this point is that the writing of the show, scene to scene, is sort of bad. I don't expect to be constantly surprised anymore, we're past that point in the story. But now characters don't act like they should in service of something that's obviously being rushed to conclusion. The more I think on it, the more I think that D&D are tired, and want to move on.

Those of you who had a problem(s) with last episode might enjoy this rant. Those that somehow did not see issues with it might be intrigued by the several points made. Also NSFW for sure, this guy probably says the f-bomb twice every sentence.

Watched it again last night on a different TV, in a dark room, without the distraction of frequent beer grabs. Helped with the visibility.
Actually liked it more the 2nd time around.

This thread mirrors a typical ND football season.

All hype and happy during the offseason and first 7 games, high-fives, beer cheers'in all around. Now we are at the point where we lost a close one to a worse Syracuse team and just barely inched by Pittsburgh.

All is lost for half the board even though a BCS bowl is still a possibility.

This Is actually the part of complaining that screws me up. I turned all the lights off within the first 5 minutes of the episode on Sunday...
Someone needs to do a YouTube sensation about that if ya ask me..<iframe src="https://giphy.com/embed/2AG2NgGMiUKPe" width="480" height="360" frameBorder="0" class="giphy-embed" allowFullScreen></iframe><p><a href="https://giphy.com/gifs/christina-aguilera-2AG2NgGMiUKPe"

Maybe It was the 10 pm start time and It was dark outside too? The street lights should have givin some comfort for the city folk........

I changed my tv picture settings to “dynamic” and it took away some of the annoying blockiness and brightened up a few scenes.

Still too dark, though. Should’ve gone with the “night blue” lighting like LOTR for Helm’s Deep. If you’re gonna make the comparisons, just embrace it.

I watched it a second time as well. Wife fell asleep first time around so I re-watched it with her. I enjoyed it more the second time also. All while being even more pissed about the battle strategy, lol.

Well yeah isn't that obvious? Big battle, then we have 1 enemy left in 3 episodes. Next episode sets up the battle for episode 5, then Ep 6 is the fallout.

Same here. Very poor and inconsistent usage of dragons on both sides. Why not more catapults. Why not use more fire in every phase. Why weren't the pits wider. Has nobody in Westeros ever used burning oil vs castle sieges? Could they use the leftover dragon glass shards in some type of bombs or something. Can they be at least smart enough to copy CL and have some big crossbows to fight the dead dragon and whoever is riding it. I would never higher D&D to plan my war... and why didn't Tyrion at least secure some wildfire to bring back to WF when he was getting lied to by his sis.
