I don't really like MN weather, but I'm in MI now, and it's just so temperate. I'm also originally from Ohio and that has the best spring/fall weather.
Agree completely.

I live in Michigan and have my entire life. Long term goal is to move somewhere with better winters. There are usually only 2-3 months of shity weather. But that's 2-3 months to many. Lol. I'd trade 2 months at 0 for 2 months at 100 any day
Where are you in MI? My only complaints about MI winters are 1) Very gray and 2) horrible plowing. The temperatures are sooo moderate. I don't think the WC ever got below -20 this year, which was niiiccceee.
As has been said about the bolded, you really can't do anything outside when it's 100. When it's winter around here, you can snowshoe, ski, skate, hike, or even go biking:

Also, 0 degrees is an exaggeration. Taking Grand Rapids as an example, it's very rare to get that cold:

As you can see, even on the coldest day of the year, there is less than a 10% chance it will get that cold.
Aside from the fact that the economy is crap and there are no decent cities in MI, it's a pretty nice place to be.
My 0 was 'real feel' temp. I live in Kalamazoo. My problem is I just don't enjoy anything outside in the winter. A prior surgery(s) aid in that tho. And I'm only in my mid 30s. Lol.
good mexican food and beer > all other food , but yes I would take the southwest weather year round over north east and midwest

Yeah, because if there's one place that's totally famous for fall, it's... Michigan?Has the most gorgeous fall of anywhere,

I had to visit Grand Haven, MI. for business regularly. Late March early April and the snow was still three feet high. January February everything is iced over and pure nasty.
Good (?) news: I'm selling my home in Minneapolis next week and moving along. I'll be spending the summer with my big bro and his wife on Big Moose Lake in the Adirondacks.
Bad news: The plan is to move to FL once winter settles in. The oppressive heat and humidity much of the year doesn't thrill me. Neither does Rick Scott.
I've loved my years in MN (since 1979) but I gotta say that shoveling snow has gotten stale and not something I'm quite up to physically. I no longer cross country ski, snow shoe, play broomball, take my son sledding, ice skate or sit in a sauna with nekkid wimmins.
I love the definitive delineation of the seasons. I crack wise that the extremes of sunlight hours is a manic depressive's dream. Late December can be a bit of a downer but with a full moon reflecting off a fresh (moderate) snowfall on a brisk, windless night is pure hollywood heaven.
When the early spring bulbs (and chives and horseradish) begin to pop through the snow cover is an incredible rush!
I don't look forward to "pitting out" at 7 AM on a May morning just walking to the car or watching and feeling the steam rise from the asphalt after a summer thunderstorm. It is was it is.
I'll miss Lake Woebegone.
How will you find Hamm's in Florida?Good (?) news: I'm selling my home in Minneapolis next week and moving along. I'll be spending the summer with my big bro and his wife on Big Moose Lake in the Adirondacks.

But in summer, it's heavenly.
I saw ice in a movie once...
I think we had this discussion, right? Michigan and the East Coast have a lot in common climate wise. I'd be willing to bet they're more alike than different in the fall fireworks regard.

That's not just uncomfortable, that's dangerous. It's already 89 degrees and 85% humidity this morning and wife wants some roof work done. Smdh
It's been a bit since posting in this thread. Looks like we went from a abnormally cold and wet winter into a very mild and wet spring to an insanely hot and dry summer. The high here will be 103 and with the humidity will feel like 113. It's already 89 degrees and 85% humidity this morning and wife wants some roof work done. Smdh
Make sure she takes enough breaks and drinks a lot of water. You might consider going to the drug store and getting her a large tube of sun screen. When she comes in to fix your lunch be extra specially nice to her.

been in the mid 90s in Hotlanta all week. I love it. Great weather for night swims in the back yard. Little steam rising off the pool. Water has been 91 degrees.... Give me all the heat. I can do without winter altogether. I can always visit mom in Indy if I want cold and snow.
