Jesus, can we at least wait for the facts? It's quite possible that some of these guys simply were in the car. If every school kicked out every kid that got busted for burning a J, then most schools would be dismissing kids every season. The kid with the gun? i'm assuming it was unregistered, which I'm fine with dismissing that kid. The rest of these guys very well may have been just going on a smoke cruise. Suspend them from the team for the season, don't kick them off the freaking team.

I don't care about the pot. It's pretty much legal now. In CT if you get caught with it you get a ticket. So don't care about it.

The gun bothers me. They all knew there was an unlicensed gun in the car. Don't care about anything, want them all kicked out of school.

In Indiana you have to have a license to carry (open or concealed) or to have it in your vehicle unless it is unloaded and not readily accessible. According to the article, the gun was loaded, so I would think that would be the reason for the charge in addition to no one being licensed.

There is only so much hand-holding you can do.

Unless the coaches are excellent liars, they seem to be providing great examples of how to be substantive on and off the field.

I was just watching the interview with Autry Denson about his unit being like a family. It is impossible not to be impressed by his leadership.

It could all just be coach-speak, but I think these students have every opportunity to be successful on the team and in the classroom at Notre Dame.

The problem is that youth/immaturity will often seek trouble when boredom sets in. When you are doing all the right things, boredom will eventually test your patience and diligence to choose the less exciting path or the former one you have been removed from.

This is an unbelievably asinine statement. Not only is Kelly not to blame for OTHER PEOPLE'S ACTIONS, but he has also historically dealt with issues head-on vs sweeping them under the rug. It's not like he's creating an SEC environment regarding punishment (or lack thereof). WTF

They need, at minimum, to be suspended. If the gun was legally owned, the owner should be pistol-whipped. The fuck you need a gun for while smoking weed? Take the gun out of the car if you are going to burn one down. Keep the gun on your person at all other times if it's for self defense.

I'm guessing minimum 2 game suspension for all involved. On the bright side, Texas has a legitimate chance to beat us now and we'll get to see a bevy of freshman take the field. Studstill will likely start beside Tranquil.

Dex was one of the players I was most excited about. Really hope he gets his shit together because he has a chance to do big things at ND (not saying the others don't).
