Former Cuban leader Fidel Castro dies - CNN.com

By Arthur Brice, CNN
Updated 1:41 AM ET, Sat November 26, 2016
Fidel Castro, the Cuban despot who famously proclaimed after his arrest in a failed coup attempt that history would absolve him, has died aged 90.

Castro's brother, Raul, announced his death on Cuban TV.
At the end, an elderly and infirm Castro was a whisper of the Marxist firebrand whose iron will and passionate determination bent the arc of destiny
"There are few individuals in the 20th century who had a more profound impact on a single country than Fidel Castro had in Cuba," Robert Pastor, a former national security adviser for President Jimmy Carter in the 1970s, told CNN in 2012.

For some reason I had already thought he was dead.

Is Obama going to take credit for this too?

No, Obama will probably release a statement that's as heavy on qualified complimentary language as he can get away with without pissing too many people off who didn't idolize a brutal dictator who ran Cuba into the ground because he couldn't admit he was wrong.

Here is a set of some world leaders reactions to the news. Check out DJT's.

Trump’s reaction to death of Fidel Castro a little more succinct than Canadian PM Justin Trudeau, others – twitchy.com

What's the over/under on President Obama's tweet having a picture of Obama himself in it?

I'm friends with some Cubans who lost everything in the revolution and escaped to come here, as well as a guy who came over as part of the Mariel boatlift of 1980. They're all celebrating this asshole's demise and hoping he burns in hell. They think all the people claiming Castro was some great man and visionary are naive fools.

Was playing poker with a Cuban friend when the news of Fidel came out - dude was almost crying and calling friends and family. Toasted heartily for a fun night. Evil folks really - if Jr was battling demons in this life I am not sure how he thought the next one was going to be any better. Good riddance.
