It's terminating human life. As a utilitarian at heart, I understand how in the big picture abortion could almost be considered a necessary evil for the overall utility of a society. Emphasis on necessary evil.

There are lots of gray areas in the sliding scale of when individuals consider it "acceptable" or "unacceptable," but at it's heart it's something to be sad about no matter the circumstance. Preservation of your own life? Rape baby? Doesn't matter, you should still be reluctant and sad that you had to have an abortion.

Acting prideful and unabashed about terminating life means you're, at best, narcissistic and delusional. At worst, you're evil.

But honestly, at the end of the day, sin is sin. In God's law, lying at the water cooler is the same as slashing your buddies throat and bleeding him out. All sins are the same and equally damning if not confessed and asked to be forgiven of. Society has placed the hierarchy of sins where murder is top dog and lying is next to nothing.

Sounds like whomever would be proud of having an abortion and ending life would have a long way to go towards salvation but I dont get to make that call, He does. But honestly, on the other hand, that would apply to ANYONE who has taken human life, (i.e soldiers) who have not confessed and sought forgiveness from Jesus no matter why they perceived taking the life as justified. So a lot of the local heroes who brag about their Iraq kill numbers could very well be, in God's eyes, in the same bucket as mentioned proud abortion person.

I know many posters on IE also frequent Reddit. There is a sub I believe it's called /r/nokids, and it is one of the most disgusting cesspools on the internet. Women will go on and post about their experiences having abortions and having "that thing" removed from their bodies. Needless to say i was blocked from that sub almost as soon as i found it. But the callous way people talk about what would become another human being is startling.

There are situations where i can understand people feeling the need to have an abortion, but the people that are proud of it or boast about how much happier they were after it was over are selfish pieces of shit IMO. The entire abortion issue is a perfect example of one of the biggest problems with our culture, people not wanting to face the consequences of their actions.

People have always made attempts to justify their actions as shameless including pulling complete junk out of the clear blue sky. People do not want to accept the consequences of their actions or even be told there are such things. That is one of the huge reasons faith is on a roller coaster plunging decline in America. People do not want to feel restricted and fact is, faith restricts. So instead of doing what God tells them to do, they reject God in favor of the Idol of Self. Sad but fact. Unfortunately for them, the Idol of Self wont do a lot for them when they are heading towards that black, dark pit where the wailing and nashing of teeth sounds are coming from.

But it has always been this way with mankind. Throughout history mankind has rejected God in favor of what they want.
