There's just a huge chunk of people in society right now that would rather complain about the way things are and blame that system for their unhappy/unfulfilled life than go try to achieve happiness. And I find that pathetic and disappointing.

I can apply this to another popular movement going on currently. For some reason, when you mention equality for all, people tend to forget that when promoting their own cause.

So yesterday I saw a pregnant woman smoking a cigarette. I posted something on Facebook about whether it was okay for me to say something to her and, unsurprisingly, the feminists came out swinging. They argued it wasn't my place to criticize her as I have no relationship with her.

I countered that the fact that she was smoking a cigarette while pregnant was pretty strong evidence that she didn't have relationships with anyone that cared enough to make her stop. They argued I was not "entitled" to say something just because what she was doing was wrong.

Yes, never criticize anyone to their face. Only do it in secret/behind their back. We don't want anyone to ever feel sad or embarrassed. That's rule #1

I'm not sure the difference between those two is of any consequence. If something is wrong, shouldn't anyone be able to exercise their free speech to voice up and say so? Wouldn't it be for the good of a defenseless child and therefore override her momentarily good feelings?

Shouldn't someone experience shame for the things that are shameful?
