Saw this earlier today. This is what I was saying after the initial findings came out. The whole teams needs to be tested once multiple players are found to have violations. According to the article, fewer then 10 players per year (Out of 1100 athletes tested) come back as positive for a banned substance. Clemson had 3. That should be a red flag to anyone. We know that less than 20 Clemson players were tested overall, but there are some places saying that it could have been as few as 14 and then you're talking almost 25% of the players. It makes you wonder how many more players should have been suspended for the game.

Sadly, I agree.

sad thing is nobody cares. the NCAA does just enough to say "we care"...
i'd prefer every athlete be tested every quarter, and before any bowl game.

It's a shame there's not enough money in college football to facilitate that testing.

Oh, wait...

All of the other teams saw Clemson's drug tests. They are the ones that were "wronged". They could push for more testing if they thought it was a problem. They won't push for that kind of testing, because a lot of those teams are probably dirty too.

Murtaugh posted a great article today about the 1994 season, recapping it’s events and bowl games. He included this gem:
Texas A&M was on probation and not eligible for the post-season, despite eventually leading the Southwest Conference at year’s end. Auburn was allowed back on television in ’94 but was also serving a post-season ban. Washington was also serving a post-season ban. You gotta love the 90’s back when the NCAA swung its hammer around a lot more freely!

Too bad the NCAA doesn’t have the balls they used to. So relevant to this case.

What a joke. Good thing Dabo is such a stand up guy. Just goes to show you practically everyone has a price just some of them are better at pulling off an innocent look and becoming the martyr a la Urban.

They arent exactly taking a scientific methodology to this investigation. They seem to have really looked into every conceivable hypothesis except the most likely hypothesis.

Sounds like he's trying to get ahead of the curve. Think Lawrences agent had the supplements tested?

I hope they get investigated, such bullshit. You don't accidentally give kids PEDs. They deserve to have wins and titles vacated.

But they won't...and they won't. Yet we'll we'll vacate multiple season's worth of wins over a self-reported academic impropriety.

This, the AAF and Adidas are going to combine to cost Clemson a 3Peat.

I wish/hope that were actually true. Have a feeling this is a continuation of the trolling via the media these two teams have been engaging in the last couple of weeks.

I don't know about that. I don't think teams go out of there way to lie. They might play it up a bit more but we also had a first round DT get drafted and we have 3 DEs capable of being drafted this coming draft. We rolled out a lot of talent.

Bingo, current projections have us playing with 9 nfl players on last year’s starting defense leaving out only Bonner and Bilal.

I just watched the first quarter and a little of the 2nd and we definitely matched up well with Clemson. In fact, we moved the ball a little better than they did. It's crazy to realize how much that defense depended on Love. I really hope someone can do a decent job of filling his monstrous shoes!

Obviously when he went down it was defining moment, in-game without a healthy Vaughn. But saying that defense depended on him, not so sure I agree with that. I think circumstances mattered quite a bit there. We also gave up a TD with a noticeably injured Gilman as well.

Love had nothing to do with ND scoring 3 whole pts all game.

Counterpoint: Once Love went down, pressure mounted on the offense, and Clemson's front 4 were able to pin their ears back and get after Book.

Had the score deficit stayed closer with a healthy Love on the field, the offense would have had a better chance to find some success with halftime adjustments since Clemson would have had to stay with a base defense.

Also, didn't Okwara get dinged a little bit and have to sit out some plays on those drives? I seem to remember at one point, on one of their first half scoring drives, we had Love and Okwara out with Gilman noticeably hurt.
