Agree. With all of the ancillary stuff our HC has to deal with that other's don't...I'm not sure who would be an improvement over BK.

No, once the committee picks their playoff teams their job is over for the year. They don't even rank past #4 for that one.

Don't really understand all the hate, I can't think of anyone I would pick up right now who would want to take the jump to ND that would be an upgrade over BK. Dude took a freshman 3rd string QB and went 10-3 with a formidable schedule. He is a good coach, and he holds the players to a high standard. He's a good representative of the university

Kelly is a very good coach but his personality has always rubbed me the wrong way and I won't be sorry to see him go.

Until Kelly quits playing favorites like Schmidt and picking coaches from past relationships and not production (BVG), no he wont be a good coach.
Coaching is about putting the best player in no matter what. He has clearly shown that he wont do that.
Coaching is about making solid and fair decisions for the betterment of your team. Sending home two starters against the 2nd best team in the country because they came home late one night just to show everyone your word is law is foolish to the extreme. You dont put your team in a pickle like that. You want to run their asses until the drop when you get home...fine. But you dont shotgun your team just to make a point of your own egoism.
BK had shit for brains hiring BVG to begin with. Please show me where he has been successful for any period of time? One year wonders is like one hit wonders in the music industry. Equally worthless in the big scheme of things.

BK took a kid that you claimed wasn't even good enough to play Div 1 football ANYWHERE (Kizer), and still made a New Years Bowl game. How does a 'joke' coach do that, considering that QB is the most important position in sports? Make up your mind, because it was you who said that Kizer sucked, but then BK won 9 more games with him (as a freshman) and barely lost to the #1 team in the nation on the road with him. A joke coach can't do that.

Kelly is a smart dude. But for what ever reasons against good teams it takes the first 20 mins for this offense to produce. And you can't do that at this level and when you have an ok defense it makes it that much worse. BVG needs to be fired or Kelly's will have a lot of heat on his back because this defense won't win a this team a game like the offense did this year.

Kelly's record in Bowl games is now 3-3 .500. His Wins are to Rutgers,Miami,Lsu and Loses is Bama,FSU,OSU. One column is much different then the other.

Basically word for word. So in his words, BK had an injury-depleted team lead by a bad, Div 2 level QB and took them to 10 wins, with 2-point losses to the #1 and #5 teams in the nation (on the road), and Kelly is a joke coach??? Wingman thinks he can have it both ways...the players AND the coaches are garbage and yet they rose to the #4 spot based on......what exactly?
Kelly isn't above reproach, but some of these posts are ridiculous.

In three of his four years there, UGA's defense was in the Top 10 in scoring defense. But we don't like to let unimportant things like facts get in the way of good old fashioned emotional overreaction around here.

It is SOOOOOO sad to see this thread back on top!!! We just had a 10 win season with 17 of our 2 deep out. I can't believe people even question if Kelly is a good coach!!!

Kelly isn't the problem. He absorbed injuries and still delivered good-great offensive skill production. There are days the Oline looks average, today being one of those. I have concerns regarding the mistakes made by veterans in key situations. It is up to BK to run that shit out of the program. But the one I can't figure out...why the defense, particularly the secondary is so consistently inconsistent....well and today they looked slow...tackled for SHIT, and spent a lot of time catching instead of delivering a blow...how is that possible with the athletes? My faith on the D side is wavering. The reality seems to be that ND will have a lot of injuries, so the scheme better translate to the first three levels of the depth chart. Other teams (Ohio state) seem to handle injuries better...those kids on the line today from OSU played pretty fast...I completely believe BVG is smarting himself out of a job...

Now my real question is Kelly a good motivator? We have come out flat in a lot of games this season not just the losses.

Are we really coming out flat or are we just not that good? We had a very good season and beat the teams we were supposed to but we played like a top 10-15 team. IMO, we were not as talented as OSU. A team like ours doesn't just come out destroying every team we play. I thought we played hard all year, in all of our games.
