Dabo and Fisher have no shame. Like literally none. I think they actually have a deficient brain that is incapable of feeling shame.

Reminds me of one of my favorite Community episodes with a carney named Blade who had railroad spike go through his brain so he was incapable of shame and it made him irresistible to women.

ND might as well join the Big Ten as it seems we are philosophically aligned with Michigan and Ohio State at this point, who woulda thought

I wouldn’t bet against them being in it before too long. Don’t think USC and UCLA share that mindset though.

I can't verify the poster other than being some A&M fan, but nonetheless, reports like these, and likely some from established, "in-the-know" reporters will start to surface over the next few months

I doubt they spent that much, wouldn't have turned away PB if that was the case.

Why join the Big Ten?? Why not go West..ND should align itself with the Pac12. We could create a stronger recruiting base as well as set ourselves up as a top tier seed in the playoffs. The ACC has done nothing for recruiting. Also, USC and UCLA will end being no better than a 4th place team in the Big Ten.

And TAMU reportedly spent, what, $30M last year? And their class is falling apart?

Now look at this year - TAMU is outside the top 10. That's called a market adjustment.

Disagree. ACC has done a lot for recruiting, regularly adding players from carolinas and Georgia. Out west players are softer and needier and part of why the PAC 12 sucks.

Going west would be a disaster. Roomie last year was a USC grad. Was constantly complaining about how late the games kicked off. I'd get back from an ND bar and he'd be getting ready to go find somewhere to watch the USC game. Them night games start at like 10 or 11pm EST lmaoo

You need to ask Jarrett Patterson and Isaiah Foskey if West coast football is soft. I counted only 8 players total from the roster who came from the Carolina’s and Georgia.
That not including the 2 commits from the 2023 class. ND had 14 players from Cali alone plus 2 more commits. And these players from Cali aren’t even the cream of the crop. You think if you get a player or 2 you have a pipeline? Cali alone feeds all the pac 12 schools plus ND, Big 10 etc. And don’t forget Oregon, Wash, Arizona, and Utah recruits are getting national recognition.Southeastern players do not leave home.80% of those ACC and SEC schools are home grown. When USC andUCLa become nothing by doormat in th Big Ten, West coast kids will not go there.

It is becoming evident that NIL is a bigger problem for ND than previously thought. Everyone knew it would handicap ND with regard to elite high school recruits. However, the transfer portal is the real issue now. ND's pool of potential transfers is small from the jump. Add in the fact that the transfer portal is true free agency now, and you see kids that were seemingly sure things being poached by NIL.

My question is, what is the best case scenario for ND going forward? The deck is really stacked right now and it's hard to see a path to a championship. I think two things would help ND get back in the game:

1. Cap accepted undergraduate transfers at 5 per year. Unlimited graduate transfers.
2. Eliminate pay for play prohibition (aka scrap the NIL rules and make it a free market). At least then FUND can use its proceeds as it sees fit, rather than following a rule that the competition disregards.

If they will not play the game just join a conference and collect the check. The admin is handicapping ND like they usually do.

Either commit to be at the top level (does not mean go full A&M) or just tuck your tail.

ND will need to figure out something quick what happens if they lose 20 guys one year to the portal then what happens? They fill their class with a bunch of low rated grad tranfers

That could happen this year. There are supposedly a ton of transfers coming after the bowl game.

Where did you read this? I haven’t seen this on here or the 2 pay sites I am on. Obviously some are assumed.

Do you have in side sources like Lax?

The “ton of transfers” are not expected to be difference makers though.

That's the thing though. Top 10 teams will fill these non-difference maker roster holes with difference-makers from the portal. ND has to do that too. Otherwise the roster is getting worse while the competition's get better.

For example ND is deep at RB. If a RB leaves, ND doesn't need to replace him with another RB. Instead ND needs to replace him with a good Vyper from the portal. That's a net positive.

Most schools will lose 10-15 kids a year to the portal. The good schools will be replacing them (at least partially) with upgrades. The issue ND has right now is that the transfer portal is the most transactional space right now for NIL and ND both 1) won’t make lump sum payments to players 2) has more restrictions on who they bring in (especially for undergrad!).

ND has got to figure out a way to get ~5 high impact guys a year at positions of need or they are going to get left behind.
