I get Sumlin, Malzone, and Miles. But what did Muschamp do to get on the hot seat before a game? It's not like SC is a traditional power with high expectations.

Maybe in their little world they believe they are. After all , they are in the SEC, SEC, SEC!

Kentucky is a similar situation, but expectations there shouldn't be as high as South Carolina.

Because USCJr got turned down by a number of coaches and basically had to settle for an uninspired hiring of Muschamp. People think that since scar didnt want him to begin with, they won't hesitate to cut him loose if he underperforms. That said, he should be nowhere close to on the hot before he's ever coached a down.

Muschamp is not who the fans here wanted. A yuge number of them are not happy with the hire and think the AD totally screwed up the search for a new coach. Muschamp had better show improvement quickly 'cause the natives are not in his corner.

I'm afraid the SCar fans are gonna be very disappointed with Muschamp. He's a good DC who's not cut out to be a HC. Ridiculous for him to be #2 on the hot seat at this point, but I'd give 10:1 odds he'll have earned that spot or already be gone in just a few years.

We will see. As someone living here yet not caring about Gamecock football, I have actually been impressed with him so far. Granted he hasn't coached a game yet, but he seems to be more ready to be a head coach this time as compared to his Florida years. Time will tell.

Barring a miracle, this will be Hazell's last season at Purdue. He's worse than Danny Hope.

I have nothing against Muschamp and hope he does well. I just haven't seen anything from him so far that convinces me he's HC material. Lot's of outstanding coordinators just bomb as HC's. There's too much difference between the jobs. Muschamp strikes me as a fiery, passionate guy who can work wonders with a defense, but is temperamentally unsuited to run an entire program.

He might be a walking example of the Peter Principle

I hope Muschamp nose dives and is prepared to be the next DC at ND, which will ultimately mean we never win more than 10 games over the next 2 years but perhaps then we'll be able to truly compete for a national title.

My only hope that supersedes that one, is that BVG somehow finds his magic and gets this team rolling this year.

The only numbers that matter. Brian Kelly

226-80 #1 on that list. I'm not a mathematician although 196-60 Nick Saban's all time record and 226-80 (Bk's) don't seem to be that much different. Yet they have Bk's as .705 and Nicky's .854

Muschamp? No thanks. Although if there was anyone that could detract from Kelly rage and make him look tame, it's Muschamp. I don't blame Muschamp for being a bad HC though. He was groomed by Mack Brown.

I highly doubt anyone else can do much better there. The only reason they are decent is because of that offense. I would take 2 or 3 years to rebound that team.

How did James Franklin not make either list?

Hello Sumlin. I'd love to see him tank this year then end up at Purdue.

Would be a good get for them. Not sure how it's going to pan out with the new AD at Purdue. Read an article that he's tight with the dollars and doesn't communicate much with his staff.

So you can expect football irrelevancy for the foreseeable future.

I'll repost here

Sounds like Ed O will interim and top contenders are
Herman
Briles
Kiffin
Whittingham
Shaw
Aranda

Some of those are not remotely going to happen

Rumors before Sat were that the big pocket guys in LA was ready to put their money on Briles to replace Les.

Hopefully Aranda would feel overlooked and consider being DC at ND. If he is looking to move up to head coach, based on this happening, Kelly would leave ND before Briles would leave LSU.
