Figured you guys would get a kick out of this. Andrew Fillipponi hosts CBS radio's Saturday afternoon show. He spent a good, no exaggeration, 25 minutes of his show shitting on Notre Dame. Then sent out this stinker of a tweet right before kickoff.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Death, taxes, and Notre Dame football losing big games.</p>— Andrew Fillipponi (@ThePoniExpress) <a href="https://twitter.com/ThePoniExpress/status/1325235360213966848?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">November 8, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Followed up by this tweet at 11:30 lmao.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Best Notre Dame win since Lou Holtz roamed the sidelines.</p>— Andrew Fillipponi (@ThePoniExpress) <a href="https://twitter.com/ThePoniExpress/status/1325297872275976192?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">November 8, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

It's possible.

Yes!! Amazing tidbit.

ND beat Clemson physically on the OL and DL. How great is it to be able to say that.

That is one of the best parts of that classic matchup. Too many times ND would make it to a big game and be overmatched. Not this time, score was close, but the ND lines abused the #1 team. Outrushed them 200 something to 30. Satisfying.

Oh the keyboard warriors fighting back and chastising the students in the replies...probably a bunch of Clemson fans.

At the risk of incurring the wrath of the board, let me as an outsider - and even more importantly, as a fan of a fellow CFB blueblood - add my two cents worth. WTF were your fans storming the field for??? Bama, ND, OSU, Oklahoma, USC... those teams' fans DO NOT storm the field under any circumstances. We expect to beat everyone. Beating #1 teams is common for blueblood programs like ours. Storming the field is for the poors who are shocked to have beaten a top team. You're not Michigan St. or Ole Miss or Cal. Don't storm the field the next time you beat a #1 team.

Passive Aggressive much? Since you are a fan of such a distinguished program that has never had any sort of protracted frustration with losing nearly every game against the very elite teams in CFB, you wouldn’t understand obviously. A fan of a program you support could never dream of what those ND students were thinking doing such a thing. I’m not in their shoes, but it was like a long nightmare for me. I’m sure there’s the fact that they’ve not had a normal 6+ months too (COVID and such). I’m not going to get all uptight about kids being kids. At the end of the day it has been since 1993 since ND beat the number 1 team (granted that they haven’t had a ton of chances, but still).

I’m half kidding, but perhaps it’s hard to fathom the long struggle it has been to finally win a game like that. I would also add due to it being double OT added a bit more high drama...... I have no issues with the students

You're just wrong here. Notre Dame storms the field when we beat big teams at home. We always have, and we're the blue bloodiest kid on the block. The "oh it should be normal for you" attitude doesn't apply because we've always done it, whether major success is typical or not.

We stormed the field in 77.
We stormed the field in 88.
We stormed the field in 93.
We stormed the field in 05............... fuckers

The university specifically raised the height of the walls surrounding the field in the stadium renovation because we rushed it too often. So to say that blue bloods don't rush is wrong, because we do.

There's no etiquette in being a fan. Sometimes you just gotta enjoy the ride. Picture Matthew Mcconaughey driving a Lincoln. Then just do whatever feels right my man.

WOW! This might be the worst post I have ever read from you.
The NFL doesn’t storm the field either. Football factories like Alabama have their head coach begging for fans to show up and that’s probably why they don’t get too excited.
But, anyway... the whole student body was tested in order to go to the game and if they wouldn’t have stormed the field the naysayers would have questioned that.
As many fans have noted, this game was a damned if you do or don’t... type of game.

This is awesome. In-game adjustments were a downfall of BK's staffs earlier in his tenure. Add to it that this happened against what might be the best defensive staff in country...

Bama doesn't storm the field because...they're too busy chanting "S-E-C"? I'd say that's much more unbecoming of a blue blood than rushing the field after the ecstasy of a big win.

The SEC also fines teams for storming the field..
$50,000 the first, $100,000 the second time and 250,000 for each consecutive time there after.
I’d say it has more to do with the immature brats tearing the field up more than anything...

Our WR's are still concerning to me we will need speed guys like Lenzy and Keys need to get into the game and get healthy. I'm okay with what we have now but we need to get more plays for Tremble and Mayer it seems like everytime these two get the ball thrown their way something good happens.

The last time ND beat a #1 ranked team, I was in second grade. Didn't bother me at all. My only regret is 80,000 weren't there to storm the field.

I couldn't believe what I was watching... WAIT we are winning? Dominating Clemson? This truly is a weird year. And then the second half started and I got that old familiar feeling creeping up the back of my head.
Different team, different result though. This running game is what we have been missing for ever to get us over the hump. The bottom line here is that in this world of hi-octane offense the ancient texts of football still apply, run the ball and stop the run and you are going to win a lot of games.

The fact that ND left like almost 21 points on the field is amazing.

Now I hope the rest of the way they keep the playbook open and don't try to be conservative to get the ACC championship.

Also in regards to storming the field, lets not forget that these are kids. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for them.

The longer they stew, the more irrational and angry the fans at TNET are becoming:

ND needs to talk right now.........it might be another 27 years before they win another big game.

A little glimpse of ND’s delusion with themselves. Checkout the last year of “unclaimed titles”. 2012...........Uhhhhhhhh unclaimed titles???? ND lost to Bama 42-14 in the BCS Championship. Later ND had to vacate 12 wins from that season for using ineligible players. Unclaimed Titles, what a joke, bunch of liars.

This guy just complained about UNCLAIMED TITLES. As in, ones the University doesn't recognize. It's like he doesn't understand how those work.

Lolol not sure what his point is, "they think they are too good to claim 2012! But even if they did claim 2012 we would dump on them for the very reason they dont claim 2012!"

Some people are idiots. I'm not sure Clemson should make fun of blue bloods for stretches without big wins. They have more than a few dry spells themselves.

Except for Clemson. I think Mayer was suffering from a little of the freshman big game jitters, but overall I agree.

Surely I am not the only one who has started my work day the last 3 days watching highlights of the game?

I'm leaving the recording on my TV and I've watched the end of the game and OT several times. Never gets old.

I actually thought Bishop's post was sarcasm

I thought so, too. Sort of a back-handed compliment. "You're back in the club now, so act like you belong here."

Storming the field is not just for the poors, but also for temporarily impoverished aristocrats, which is where we've been for the last 27 years or so.

Yes, it's important for Bishop to understand that, though we were forced to sell our chateau on the Right Bank, we never sold our title. But our short sell of frozen orange juice concentrate has paid off handsomely, and the rest that we invested in Bitcoin has left us quite flush. Perhaps it's time to make an offer on a new Chateau du Lac

Two years ago Clemson stormed the field after their 3rd ranked team beat an unranked Syracuse team LOL
