What would be really funny, is that if Glennon balls out and we have Mitchy Poo just sitting on the bench.
I think you're safe there on Glennon balling out.

That moment when I yelled "what in the actual fuck!?!?!"
While my phone is getting blown up with lol emojis.
Jesus...

Not a Bear's fan but what the actual fuck did they do? Are they actively trying to give Cleveland a run for its money as worst franchise in sports history?

The Niners have been fielding trade offers the entire offseason to see what they could get, because they desperately need talent. Case in point: The Niners and Bears played last year and da Bears clobbered them by 20 points, because SF's whole core from a few years ago retired and they were left with nothing.
Ryan Pace wanted Trubisky and knew that the Niners' plan was to trade down. Instead of being leapfrogged by the Jets or anybody, Pace pulled the trigger to get the guy he clearly thinks can be a franchise QB. This cost them a few mid-round picks, which hurts, because though the cupboard has been restocked a bit, they still need depth and impact players across the board. But Ryan Pace don't give a f*ck and wanted his Mr. Biscuit (Trubisky's actual nickname, oh my gosh we're screwed).
The question is whether or not you would rather have Mitchell -- seriously, I laughed when they kept calling him that --, or take Adams at #3 and select one of Darnold or Josh Allen next year. It ain't close, considering the Bears are not a QB away from being great and Glennon is a good stop gap.
I'd have thought that by signing Glennon, they were going to go after defense with that third pick. Or trade DOWN and go for defense.
They're pretty bad from top to bottom, so I don't know what you really focus on for them. By doing what they've done, do they lean toward getting these guys OL and TE now? Those seem to be consensus areas of need along with DBs.
It wasn't boring last night, that much is for sure.
If Glennon is a good stop gap, how would they have been in position to draft Darnold next year without actually selling the farm (Rams & Philly last year, Skins in '12)? I wanted defensive players in the 1st and whatever QB fell in the 2nd. Clearly Pace saw Trubisky as a franchise QB and pulled the trigger. I can't fault him for going after his guy, I just would have preferred to build the team first.
I mean, they've got a good front 7 and a near elite interior O line, plus a Pro Bowl running back. They were killed with injuries more than anything else last year. They still need another tackle to provide depth on the O line, a TE for the future, and playmakers in the secondary.
I do expect Pace to get offensive weapons with some of his other picks, because I think it's pretty common to pair rookie QBs with young weapons.

Two 3rd round picks are not mid rounders. Playoff teams are built in the 3rd and 4th rounds. When you pick at #3, you don't worry about the 2 guys you can't have unless Peyton Manning or John Elway is coming out that year. They're the ONLY players I would have made this deal for in my lifetime... and with Elway, you could have traded down to the bottom of the 1st with a dummy like Pace. picked up a couple of 3rds, a fourth and still got Dan Marino.
Crus, there are only 7 rounds in the NFL draft. A 3rd round pick is a mid rounder.

You're side stepping his point. 3rd and 4th round picks, especially in this draft, are valuable.

You're right, I should have responded longer, but I became distracted.
Crus, I'm not here to tell you that Mr. Biscuit is the next Manning, Brady or anybody. But Ryan Pace sure thinks that Trubisky is a franchise QB prospect, and that is worth way more than getting an additional starter in the 3rd or 4th round. We see nearly the same playoff teams every year, because they have the best QBs. Sure, there are some teams like the Texans or Broncos in 2015 that go in on the strength of their defense, but without the QB you set yourself up for failure. Is another Deon Bush or Kwiatkoski going to make the difference between being a top 10 pick or playing in January? No, probably not, but a QB will.
Pace found a guy he's willing to stake his job on and targeted him. It's not what I would have done, but we see every year teams trade up and pay huge sums of draft picks to pick a Wentz, Goff, RG3 or whomever. The mantra is always "you can't put a price on a franchise Quarterback" when the Eagles are giving up future 1sts or the Skins give up 3 1st round picks. The Bears had their chance at getting their guy, so they took it. If Mr. Biscuit pans out, then it's worth that trade easily. You can't get your QB if you're unwilling to draft one, and Pace decided Mitchell is the guy.
I just hope that this guys balls out in a few years and we draft some good defense with the rest of our draft.
How the hell did Mr. Football in Ohio wind up at North Carolina?

Yesterday, I was upset, like all of you. I was hoping Solomon Thomas/Jamal Adams at pick three and QB (hopefully Kizer) round two.
While I still think it was stupid, for comparison's sake, last year Philly gave Cleveland 1st, 3rd, 4th of that draft, plus their 1st rounder pick this year, and their second rounder in 2018 to get Carson Wentz and a conditional fifth round pick in '17. I agree that the Bears gave up a lot, I would be even more pissed if they gave up what Philly did.
