I'm baffled that Stanford is going to land 3 legit safeties, ND has like 2 on the roster and can't get a 2nd.

Is Reid waiting on Buncom to commit? I'd imagine we'd be more attractive destination given our depth concerns and only 1 "safety" at the moment in our class.

Yes a very real shot. With that said ND is special and clearly other talented players see that as well, so lets see if we can get a really impressive visit for Reid.

The toughest part of recruiting is getting quality players at all positions every year. You can have some really good looking classes on paper but if you miss on a position or two, it always seems to come back and bite you. Especially if it's two years in a row.

Sounds like Stanford did a great job on his visit there...we are going to need to knock it out of the park. I like how he's evaluating his choices. He has a good head on his shoulders.

That's not a bad thing, considering we generally always have great reviews on visits. I'm not sure of our chances here, but really hoping we get him. Need a safety desperately.

This may have already been discussed in another thread but I couldn't find anything. Does Hardy leaving open up another scholarship? If so, do we take 2 safeties or 1 and BPA?

Unless the author was an idiot or worked for ESPN's recruiting site, any projections you have seen/read have presumed that Hardy was not coming back and taken that into consideration.

In other words, it changes nothing to anyone who has been following the numbers closely.

No. Hardy was a senior this year, so he doesn't count towards the total amount of spaces, since he'd be a 5th year in 2015.

Basically it just says so far it's a good visit. Not much more than that. Anna on Scout thinks LSU offers him by next weekend so it may not even matter.

Thank you Johannes for sharing the 247 update. Here's the 247 inro:

Reid and his Dad arrived Friday and went out to eat with Cooks, BVG, and Cole Luke (host). The staff is laying out the proverbial red carpet, and on Sunday, Reid will meet individually with each coach including BK.

They're told him they need him and he needs to be ready day 1 to play meaningful snaps.

Him and Cole Luke are getting along well and tonight he'll be hanging out with Luke and other players which is important.

Reid was very, very impressed with the academic presentation (can't remember the guy's name - Adam something?).

It sounds like Reid has told ND that he's down to ND and Stanford - not sure how LSU plays into that if they want him.

No predictions or anything like that, but it sounds like the visit is going about as well as it could.
