I know this is a ND board, but I'm sure there are plenty of Bears fans on here, and I'm sure those Bears fans are wondering the same thing right now.

Who the fuck is this team? And why are they wearing the Bears' jerseys?

I simply can't comprehend the amount of suck that has gone into this season. I expected at the VERY LEAST, a playoff competitor. What I've got is a complete and utter disgrace. I'd rather them not show up and forfeit all of their games, because quite frankly I don't wish to watch this team continue to publicly shit themselves anymore.

Last year, the defense had a legitimate excuse for sucking, as the depth was horrible and the injuries piled up. But now, Tucker has had a year to instill his defense and somehow they look WORSE. Today's game is the epitome of that thinking. Last year, the defense was bailed out multiple times by a dynamic offense. That however, has been replaced by a turnover machine. Cutler has looked as inconsistent as he's ever had. The run game has been completely abandoned, and the injuries continue to pile up, but that's no excuse this year. I'm sick of this team falling short of expectations, but this year they aren't just falling short, they tripped at the starting gate.

Pray to God the Bulls and Hawks win a title, because I don't see the Bears doing anything remotely successful for some time now. The harsh truth is that the coaching is deplorable, the vets are old and decrepit, and the young-ins have no idea what the fuck they're doing (nor do the coaches, but that was already addressed).

I have completely lost faith in this team. I remember hearing somebody complain about the fans booing them after they lost to Miami...Do you honestly think you deserve better? This is a fanbase that pretty much funds the team, but constantly selling out crowds and being there through the worst. They, AT THE VERY LEAST, deserve a team that is willing to put out their best, which is clearly not what they're getting.

The Bears are truly an absolute disgrace, and the fans deserve much better.

Not sure if you're going to get the responses you want. Isn't there a Bears board somewhere? Personally, kinda wish the NFL didn't exist.

I don't follow any NFL boards, nor do I wish to. College is better than the NFL, but there are actually a lot Bears fans on here, and many who follow the NFL. This game has just been so, eye-rapingly bad, that I had to vent this.

Reports of Brady and Pats demise were greatly exaggerated. What a beat down.

I think the Bears have made all the right moves lately. For the rest of the NFC North.

Good for Jonas Gray to get a lot of play time today. He's running well.

This. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I haven't watched an NFL game in years. I find it hopelessly boring. I actually thought my brothers and I were the only ones who felt this way. Good to know we're not alone.

Count me in one the lack of enjoyment of the NFL.

You're in good company.

The Bears would be much better off today had the Jay Culter trade never happened. Jerry Angelo gave up too much - kyle Orton, 1st, 3rd round picks in 2009, and 1st round pick in 2010 - for Culter. The Bears have an overpaid, disgruntled quarterback to thank for their predicament. Not enough contract money is available for quality players.

WE FUCKING SUCK. I don't care what anyone says I don't want Mark Trestman back. I wouldn't hate it if Mel Tucker is fired tonight. Chris Conte is the worst football player on the planet. I can't stand Jay Cutler anymore his shit is just getting old. I have given up on this year and I had to watch that shit today and it was pathetic.

At least I got the Bulls and Blackhawks to look forward to having fantastic years but the Bears are an embarrassment to the greatest city in the world. GO Irish

It's odd, because despite getting pasted, Cutler had good numbers. He was 20/30 with 3 TD's and just 1 pick. Even Forte had one of his best games ever, so how in the blue hell did they lose by 28?

Sorry, you can blame a lot of things on Cutler, but he was hardly the reason the Bears lost today. When your defense is giving up 51 points, it's a little easier to pinpoint the issues.

Trestman has made this team VERY soft. It was a failed experiment, time to move on.

Just feel that the NFL contributes nothing. It sucks tax dollars into boondoggle stadiums with no purpose, holding people hostage over "their team" leaving. It has one of the highest bankruptcy rates of any professional field, resulting in more hidden costs. It has no loyalty, as almost any player or team can depart from "their fans" at any time. Without loyalty, fandom doesn't really mean anything. The players aren't playing for anything but their exorbitant salaries.

The NFL is one social ill after another, and that's not even getting into the painful boredom it exudes with every meaningless play.

I feel the exact same way about the NBA. If it folded tomorrow, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

Totally agree. Also, imagine how different CFB would be without the NFL. Players would have to get meaningful degrees and graduate since they wouldn't have the NFL as a possible career. It also would probably lead to less corruption in CFB, too.

I don't have anything against this as an aspiration, but what bothers me is the amount of personal sacrifice student athletes are willing to make in other to facilitate a potential NFL career. Ole Miss over Stanford? Sure, why not, the NFL is there. Leave without a degree? Sure, why not, the NFL is there. Accept cheating as a way of life? Sure, why not, the NFL is there, and you don't really need to know that stuff anyway! It's an ephemeral carrot on a stick, promising millions of dollars and fame to players who ultimately suffer from a much, much, much higher bankruptcy rate than their compatriots who never sniff the NFL but who instead went to Duke or Northwestern and worked for a meaningful degree.

Very well said.
