Just imagine being a kid and getting the chance to take these visits to places like ND...

Thank you Johannes for sharing the 247 update. Here's the 247 inro:

Reid and his Dad arrived Friday and went out to eat with Cooks, BVG, and Cole Luke (host). The staff is laying out the proverbial red carpet, and on Sunday, Reid will meet individually with each coach including BK.

They're told him they need him and he needs to be ready day 1 to play meaningful snaps.

Him and Cole Luke are getting along well and tonight he'll be hanging out with Luke and other players which is important.

Reid was very, very impressed with the academic presentation (can't remember the guy's name - Adam something?).

It sounds like Reid has told ND that he's down to ND and Stanford - not sure how LSU plays into that if they want him.

No predictions or anything like that, but it sounds like the visit is going about as well as it could.

Probably Adam Seargent... former lax guy in charge of a lot of student athlete academic stuff.

That's it. My gut tells me we pass stanford tomorrow and it all Depends on that LSU visit. Idk their situation but I'd be surprised if they didn't make room for him.

I have to believe that academics really are important to him...30 on his ACT, which is why Stanford and Notre Dame are neck and neck. LSU can't compare to the academics and I don't think anyone can give him the early PT that we can.

It's LSU for a Louisiana kid ... if they want him, 99% of the time nothing else matters ..

He is a 1 percenter....

That's easy to say after the fact. I just thnk by the time you are in January before NSD you have a little better feel for who the kid is. We always have a shot with independent, academically-minded kids, especially if they are faith-oriented.

On he other hand, Reid is a legacy with a NFL bro who lives near Stanford, so I'm not saying ND is a lock, obviously.

Three Louisiana kids in one year would be an apparition tho.

I'm betting that we don't land another Safety in this class, if we get anyone it will be Jalen Julius. If Loy was so confident he would have put a crystal ball in for him to ND. I just think with his brother being so close to Stanford he will go there for go to LSU if they offer.

Isn't the kid still on his OV? How could Loy have an update yet if so? He may very well end up elsewhere, but Loy's lack of a CB at this point shouldn't be the reason we think so.

Loy actually said it was going extremely well but he wanted to hear with how the meeting with Kelly went. I think we will feel real good after today

Maybe ND should show Reid the last few seconds of the ND-Stanford game, with the pass-catch from Golson to Koyack, and the crowd going nuts.

Reports coming in on Reid seem to suggest we did a good job. It's interesting, because his recruitment reminds me a bit of Alexander last year and I wonder if we're just making an impression a bit too late. It seems the strategy on his OV was to make sure he talked to all the guys who chose ND over Stanford and have them explain why.

I'm personally pessimistic he signs with ND but at the very least we put ourselves in the race.

From shitty rivals - everything lax said plus that bk and cooks will have their in home with him this wednesday, one day before shaw has his.

Spent an hour with BK in his office today. Depth chart and fit were the selling points. I also feel we finish 2nd to Someone, idk who.

The visit went very well and he will list pros and cons for both Notre Dame and Stanford when he gets home. He will talk to his dad and brother and a decision should be made in the near future.

Also, his offer from LSU came in December and it is committable

Getting 2 kids from Louisiana with LSU offers in the same year would simply be insane.

We definitely made a major impact, Loy is digging deeper tonight. We still could get him. The staff definitely played this well

I haven't read the article but if he is really looking for a good atmosphere, why in the hell is he even considering Stanford!?

He hung out with Smythe and Luke for most of the visit. He is in the same situation as Durham was a few years ago as Durham considered Stanford as well. He really enjoyed hanging out with the players and seeing the facilities. He feels a bit more comfortable at Notre Dame and likes the atmosphere at Notre Dame. At Stanford, he said that they have nicer weather (good lord) and he likes that his brother will be close by. But he knows that his brother could always be traded to a different team. He'll talk to Eric and his dad and will sleep on it for a few days.

This is gonna sound very homerish but I honestly don't know why he would pick Stanford over ND. It doesn't make much sense to me

Did all we could, however if LSU turns up the heat and the offer is actionable don't see him turning them away

Stanford kids have access to more pot if that's what he's into. Some kids would never admit it as a reason to go somewhere, but that's why some definitely choose to go there randomly I think without saying because it's so prevalent there.
