I want Todd Bowles from the Cards, or Rex Ryan. If they don't hire a DC or defensive minded coach, God help them....

*Bears have never hired a HC with previous HC experience.

Ernie Accorsi should help the Bears as their adviser. He drafted Elway, Kosar and Eli Manning. Built the 2007 New York Giants.

So with the recent additions, it seems like the McCrapskey's aren't dicking around anymore. Wow...only took you 25 years so good on ya...

What seems like realistic expectations for the Bears in 2015? Hopefully a return to .500.

Who the fuck would want to coach the Bears when they have the McCaskey's running it, Phillips fucking everything up, and Cutler getting coaches fired left and right?!

Wait, the hired who?!

I really liked the hires of Fox and Fangio, but i'm not sold on Gage. He has had one true stint as an OC and it was with Peyton Manning as his QB. Which really means he had a Jr Offensive Coordinator role, as PFM is the king of his castle. I would have much rather prefered a proven commodity like Weis.

Fox in charge basically means they'll ground and pound to take the attention away from Cutler and allow him to focus on targeting his 6'5 WR's. Gase showed that he can adapt his gameplan, shown when Manning was hurt and they went to the ground. I kinda see him working with Manning as a plus as well. Sure, you Manning as your QB, but...you had Manning as your QB. What better way to fix the QB issues by taking a few nuggets of wisdom from one of the greatest QB's in NFL history?

He may have adapted, but he didn't do it well. Once Manning started dealing with injuries, the offense died. The last game he coordinated was an embarrassing example of being a one trick pony with PFM.

He knew with Manning's play that he had to adapt, but he failed miserably at finding a way to manufacture offense without Manning calling the shots. I wouldn't use his experience with that as evidence of his abilities. If anything, it was evidence that he is far too green.

Resigned Jimmy Clausen per TP on Twitter

Sporting my Grammar Hammer Hat:

Re-signed, not Resigned!

One is to re-up, the other is to negate or end.

I try to control myself, but I'm a simple, weak man who prefers that reading not involve heavy lifting.

Not a big fan of losing Marshall, but oh well......I've become accustomed to bad decisions from the Bears in my lifetime.

Somewhat indicates he was responsible for the cr@p the Bears were putting on the field last year.

He was hurt pretty much the entire year, and seemed to be the only player who gave a shit about winning IMO.

He was one of the only guys that they don't have in their future plans who could be traded. For however much he declared that he wanted to win, he certainly left plenty of plays on the field.

Chicago Bears address

I'm hitting a breaking point with the comical ineptitude of this franchise. I put 25% of the blame on coaches and GM, 25% of Ted Phillips, and 50% on Vag McCaskey for sitting on her coin purse, not having the guts to fire TP, and consistently watching her Buffalo Nickels go to waste when she does decide to pull a few out of here and there.

Marshall is being scapegoated as a guy whose detriment off the field outweighed his production on the field. My opinion is his detriment off the field was solely because he was stuck on a lifeless team with a mannequin coach, and nobody else had the balls to call a duck a duck.

Not arguing with anything that has been said. Hope Fox and this new GM can breathe some life into this team. Sad state of affairs.

Steelhead, I couldn't agree with you more about the Bears........I'm a firm believer that Cutler is a huge part of the problem, the other half being that idiot , Mike McCaskey.

I don't agree that Cutler is a huge part of the problem, although his contract is ridulously awful, like 90's NBA contracts level awful. I heard on the radio the Bears interviewed Mariota. If they trade Cutler and #7 for the #2, a lot of people would be thrilled, but not me.

No way you let Marshall go for a 5th round pick.

The Bears gave up two 3rd rounders for him, and that was when his image was in the dumps. He has spent the last two years rehabilitating his image, and producing at a high level (despite injuries this year and a few outspoken moments), so now he's worth a 5th?!?! He is a LEGITIMATE number one, and I'm definitely steaming over this still. This was clearly a cheapskate move, veiled under other "circumstances."

There is no way it's just for a 5th. I simply refuse to believe Pace would be that stupid. People who think Marshall's stock took a hit since joining Chicago need to get their head on straight. Marshall's stock looks a lot better than it did in 2012, when he was labeled a locker room cancer by the Dolphins. I'm all for trading Marshall, but for a 4th and 5th, no less.

Hate it. Alshon is a deep threat so unless they go out and get a legitimate #1 WR who demands a double team the passing game will take a huge hit.

Maybe the trade is for Harvin and a 5th? Knew there was rumor the Bears would he interested if he was cut by the Jets. Would make the trade a little more bearable.
