I hope he gets fired after one season bc it goes that poorly,… lol
ding ding ding. I have no love for LSU so the optics of BK and the Tigers getting humiliated (and paying him a shit load of guaranteed money in the process) would be hilarious. Unfortunately, I think he's got a nice cushion for two or three years to try and get that program relaunched before they'd ever pull the trigger.

Kelly might get a statue at ND one day. I would think it would look really bad to a have a legendary coach fall on his face. 5 years from now recruits will be walking the halls and seeing his face.
I'm saying this as someone who does not have any real "inner-connections" at ND, but I don't see any way BK would ever be getting a statue.
The obvious reason is that he never won a NC, but let's not forget the baggage that BK carried here as well. His fault or not, you have the Declan Sullivan tragedy, the academic "scandal," the Saint Mary's allegations/Prince Shembo.
Now I'm not saying how much BK is or isn't at fault for any of this, I wasn't there, I didn't carry out the investigations, etc, but I just know there was a large contingent of ND alumni/supporters who were never a fan of CBK and I can't imagine they were ever supportive of a statue even with a Natty, let alone without it. I have relatives who are alumni and I know that they, along with some of their peers I've spoken to at games over the years, were never very supportive of BK.
From a football standpoint, I was always a supporter of him and thought he did a remarkable job here resurrecting this program. I just think there's another side to this story and some people have very strong opinions about the man and his career here.
