Keys has never shown anything to convince us he's actually good. He's gotten offseason hype and that's it. Davis is far less natural at the slot and he's produced more than Keys has with less snaps. Regardless, I'd rather see no more than 2 WRs on the field at the same time moving forward. Play more TE heavy formations and 2 back sets.
He didn’t produce more yards or better averages than Keys last year. And it’s important to note that something like 60 yards of Davis yardage came on one play against New Mexico State last year.
Last year:
- Davis, 16 plays from scrimmage for 134yds (8.4 avg) and 2 TD’s.
- Key, 19 plays for 179yds and (9.4 avg) 0 TD’s
And Keys has only played 14 snaps through FSU. So, really hard to discern his impact since he’s not getting any opportunity to play.
In the biggest regular season game of the year, last year, against UGA, they got Keys involved early in the gameplan. That means something. Now, it seems pretty clear that Kelly is playing seniority at multiple positions.
