As a barely functional representative of the class of 2010 [due to age and chronic risk of injury], I'd like to make several things crystal clear:

1). As stated earlier, Whiskey was obviously on campus as an EE and therefore actually part of the 2010 class;

2). despite less than 1000 posts, we of 2010 would petition for KissmeImIrish to be included in the list of 2010;

3). Neutered joined in 2008, but calculating the number of months that he was banned, he clearly falls within the 2010 class.

These truths we hold self-evident...

as well as the truth that JPham can squash us all like bugs anytime he wants to.

Just sayin'.....

Mike, you know I love you. But no. Don't try to steal a foundation member of our class!

(Also, if we are EE-ing, I joined early January 2011 and had been lurking in 2010 because I discovered that reading the boards here was better for following the recruiting madness that was happening at that time than any of the other "news" sites covering ND.)

I would also like to nominate TP as a member of our class. Only ~500 posts, but they are a quality 500.

It has now come to our attention that Rhode Irish was also an EE, and therefore part of 2010. We are very anxious to assert that no one should view this as some kind of Robbie Toma-Manti Te'o deal. Rhode is a great player in his own right, and is, as we know, quicker than fast.

p.s. that was a technique that I learned at the CIA... whoops shouldn't have said that....

Do I count as an EE since I was "IrishInColumbus" in 2010 until I lost my password for a minute and decided to reboot as Buster Bluth?

The last 2 classes feel largely like the Wynns and Arias of the Vegas Strip, sleek, full of knowledge, and playing the game at a different speed, leaving us old timers behind.

I'd like to think the older classes mirror Belmont Street. Fewer bells and whistles, just a little seedy, but able to felt the whippersnappers from time to time, and likely to beat their card-counting @$$es in a bar fight. :p

06 for life.

2010 hereby formally welcomes Buster to our swell[headed]ing ranks, remembering belatedly that he was at the top of our list both then and now. As to his potential: time, the great arbiter of all true greatness, alone will tell.

Old Man has to go to bed now and quit being silly with you younguns..

We took you as an EE Whiskey so you count towards the 2010 class.

I joined in 2009, but didn't start posting till 2010. So how about my class is 2009, but I redshirted that year?

Edit: Post 5,001 woot!

I'm gonna vote for my year, but a lot of those guys haven't posted in a while or have banned... multiple times. Dang 2007....

I was more with the 2010 guys, but I guess I'll take being the first member of the class of 2011.

I whole heartedly agree that K1ssMe should be given her due. I'll hold back on my picky-arse, old fashioned, old-fart treatise on "less" versus "fewer."

I hadn't thought of it until you brought it up, but my time in the penalty box might well slide me into the 2010 class as well.

Were I a taciturn Irishman rather than a capriciously verbose Irishman, I'd have fewer than 1000 posts.

Do with me what you will. I'll fax my LOI to any class that will take me.

Looks like the 2010 class poached most of 2011's talent at the 11th hour. OMM is a crafty head coach.

lol funny thread. I don't know how I'd get through my boring-*** workday without IE. Do my IE breaks force me to work past 8 most nights in order to bill my requisite 8 hours? Yes. Is it better that way? Actually, yes.

I'd like to think of the 2012 IE class as IrishMob13 ... hungry, loyal, strong sense of camaraderie. Still a few months till NSD but just wait, before it's all said and done we'll be a force ...

Btw, thanks for that background, Hollywood. Interesting stuff.

This! My hope is that the 2012 class can ultimately both carry on the tradition of such strong classes and yet serve as a complement to all the great posters that came before. It's crazy to actually take a step back and realize how stacked our "program" is. Hopefully our class adds some more quality posters to the group.

How about the all banned class? Neutered, Mbecka, Phork (although he's likely just on a short unpaid sabbatical)? That would be interesting.

I tried to think of criteria for the nominees for each year but there wasn't much to go by. Number of posts was the best way for it. I originally was going to have the limit 1,500 but there was just too many people...sorry. So 2,000 it is. I don't think money says anything as you could have a ton of money sitting in the bank and still bring nothing to the site you know. I believe in quality vs. quantity and a good way for that would be to base it on reputation received or reputation per post but there is nothing setup for that which would be pretty cool to see.

I joined January 15, 2011. I lingered around for a month or two so I would have to say 2010 was the inspiration/motivation for me to come to IrishEnvy...good group of guys.

To dshans, who must have been having a senior moment: He!l no we don't all live in a Yellow submarine --- That's Michigan!! WE all live in a Golden Submarine --- pure perfection Gold.

So we sailed on to the Sun, Till we found the Irish Green, and we lived beneath the Dome, In our Golden Submarine....

And there's a Trophy on the way, as we sail our ship that way....

[cue Beatles stage right.....]

Re: poaching. Recruiting is a dirty game. Nothing personal, just business to you opposing coaches. I learned to Stoops to poach at the last minute from one of the current masters of the craft. I know you won't buy me lunch, but I'll be thinking of you when Whiskey, Rhode, and Buster are hoisting the trophy.

p.s. any other four or five star wanting to flip is welcome. We have nothing Sabgainst oversigning.
