2010 is like ND's 2008/2009 squads. They had the numbers, the star power, and the individual accolades... but in the end they still disappoint you.

Oversigned in 2010. Created more votes. More opportunity to win based on depth.

This isn't the SEC...unethical bastards!

My vote went to 2010. Obviously both classes have their share of great contributors, moderators, etc, but at the end of the day, the class of 2011 didn't have an answer for OMM. He's a once-in-a-generation player, much like Louis Nix III. When he leaves the program, we'll spend months, maybe even years, trying to figure out how we can replace him only to realize it would be easier to just change the defensive scheme altogether.

Agree. OMM will be impossible to replace. We could petition the Rules Committee here on IE to allow more time to substitute however. At least slow down OMM's departure somewhat.

I'm 73. About to run out of every kind of eligibility except drafting [I hope] by a higher power. Unlike Big Lou, my replacement will just have to fill up air not space.

Notre Dame under BK fills the air with footballs. I just fill the football site with air. Beau and the 2011-ers are poised to provide as much inflation as we'll ever need.

The future is bright.

Afterall, there is always next year.........

Its safe to say I was a walk on, and never earned a scholarship. Its also safe to say Kuehnja was offered a scholarship, and very well could be the only IE poster to ever have it revoked for poor performance.

The best class was 2011

At the time Beau made the list one had to have 2,000 posts to be considered. As you only have about 2,600, two years obviously you didn't make the cut. Weak typing fingers, poor mobility on the keyboard ... you are the Tommy Rees of your class.

Let's have some fun.

IrishEnvy was started in 2004. Since then hundreds of posters have come to this forum to view and discuss Notre Dame. Some have come and gone and some have called IrishEnvy home. But what year brought in IrishEnvy's best members???? This thread is meant to discuss just that. Listed below are the posters for the given years starting with the pioneers in 2004 to the now familiar faces of 2011. Who is your classes Manti Te'o? Who is your Aaron Lynch? Let the debate commence. Simple nominees are those that have made over 2,000 posts to IrishEnvy.

Can this be an IE Award? Updated Class Lists. lol. and The Coon in 2010.

Good call, I'm really going to get those up this weekend. Innovative ideas like this just continue to separate 2011 from everyone else.

I have another award idea for you. The "Chuck Martin Award for Most Predictable Posting."

Goes to the IE member who you know made a certain comment without even looking at the name of the poster. For example:

Long post, don't understand half of it---Bogs (nothing but love Bogs :))
Short novel, insightful--OMM
"McBride, Loyd and Achonwa all in double figures." ---BGIF
"You're not Your"--dshans
"Mike Brey is the devil"--gkIrish

Clearly 2009 was a fine, vintage year.

Rare, smooth and gets better with age.

Is it safe to say Pat was IE's Aaron Lynch? Maturity issues, and yet a surprising amount of support from the team, thought he was gone, stuck around, then ultimately melted down and left* while supporters turned to famous faces to try and change his ways, ultimately to no avail?

*see: forced out
