Sinbad never had a genie movie, that was Shaq, but Wizards did have some kind of Mickey Mouse hat avatar before.

This topic is actually interwebs lore. So many people randomly thought that not only did Sinbad play the genie instead of Shaq, but also that the movie was titled "Shazaam".

They called it a case of the "Mandella Effect".

It appears that this is another instance of the “Mandela Effect,” an informal term for a collective false memory. The term was coined by a woman who discovered that she and hundreds of other people believed, and remembered, that Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela had died in prison in the 1980s. Mandela actually died in 2013, after serving as South Africa’s first black president and winning the Nobel Peace Prize (along with another former president, Frederik Willem de Klerk, who ended the system of segregation known in South Africa as apartheid during his time in power) in 1993 — all of which, of course, would have been impossible if he had already been dead a decade.

Did Sinbad Play a Genie in the 1990s Movie 'Shazaam'?

They phenomenon was so bizarre that Sinbad actually said that he wants to make the movie so people shut up about it. ha.

Sinbad says he'll make "Shazam" for real, and we've never been more on board with anything in our lives

Haha I read about it a week or so ago.

It's funny because I KNOW there is a Shaq/genie movie. I loved that shit when I was younger.

But I also faintly recalled a sinbad movie that was similar, even though I had never talked to anyone about it.

But then I was like, "no, Sinbad was in a movie where he was invisible and only a kid could see/talk to him."

But that's not right, either. Sinbad is a time-traveler, and erased any evidence of the movie(s) in question.

I'm gonna test this Mandella effect thing.


Wizard once told us in the "Getting To Know You" thread that he was born with a tail. They removed it pretty early on, but he still has a phantom feeling of it when he sits for too long. His mom has a picture of it, but he said it's too embarrassing to show us.
