Its only odd because of the way you interpreted it. I wasn't singling out Koon in my posting rather giving an overall assessment of the way the board is run in regards to other boards, especially those that are a paid site. This board gets watched by big timers so its important we maintain civility here as it separates us from the 'other' ones.

OK. Now you've got my attention

I don't believe anyone has debated that, I sure haven't. I responded to post(s) commenting on him as a poster, some untrue. Cool story tho

?

I commented on your assertion that he never went on the attack and was almost always the victim, which simply isn't true. You definitely debated that.

Cool post though.

He rediscovered it as it was from the ancient times and was used by both jedi and sith.
Force ghost - Wookieepedia, the Star Wars Wiki

Well that goes beyond my film knowledge haha. Episode III makes it seem as if Qui-Gon discovered the trick. Now I'll be reading Wookiepedia for hours.

But either way, my original statement stands. In being banned, Koon has become one with the Force.

So are we assuming Koon is a jedi and pure-hearted haha? Also Wookiepedia is the best pun ever

Yea but its more of a cop out that they had in at the last second to explain Qui Gon talking to Anakin in the 2nd prequel movie. It doesn't make sense cause in the other cases Obi/Yoda they allow themselves to die and their bodies disappear. Plus the prequels are trash and full of wholes.

And with that, it just got nerdy up in here.

I guess that you were just too busy to watch Star Wars while you rode your high horse to the top of your Ivory tower.

On advice of counsel, I "plead the fifth."

Huh! That's interesting . . . I usually drink one.

Or a common defect of character, or maybe a common behavioral disorder?

Not like the definition of an internet poster doesn't require the said to be either a troll, or a French model!

Hahaha...it was a joke (hence the dancing banana). The people I know who watch Star Wars and Star Trek always talk about how they get 'nerdy' or 'geeky' when their friends watch and/or talk about it, in a good way. I've never heard someone get offended like you did.

And no, never rode a horse. Instead of watching Star Wars and memorizing those characters, I was outside playing sports any chance I got. And the movies I did watch weren't sci-fi. Just wasn't my thing. Different strokes.

See, that is the difference between most of us. To heck with sports or science fiction. I was upstairs knocking boots with most of your mama's every chance I got! Didn't need movies, but made a few! Ask your mama's to see 'em!

So everyone needs to 'STFU' with their support of Koon or disagreement with his punishment. Yet it seems perfectly fine for the Koon bashers and punishment supporters to continue to post their opinions.

Nope. Everyone is entitled to offer up their opinions here. But this koon thing has started to border on harassing the mods, insinuating that they have been unfairly harsh of someone (who probably should have been banned much longer). State your case; and once the mods have said, "We heard you.", then move on. The inability to do just that is what got koon banned in the first place. There's no reason for others to repeat the same mistake.

DO NOT even get me started by comparing Star Wars and Star Tre....... nah just kidding literally 90% of what I say on here is sarcastic. And I wasn't offended even a little bit. If I were I'd attempt to cover my nerdism and prove my masculinity by posting about all the sports stuff I do in my free time.

Fair enough, good post and explanation. People, apparently, take this message board stuff way too serious. But you are right and I understand your point.

This seems to be the major sticking point here between pro- and anti-Koon posters. IE is a "serious" message board, and is moderated accordingly. The "lol internets!" crowd is welcome to participate as flippantly as they like, but they're going to be held to same standard as everyone else.

Hmm. I didn't take that as a zing at all (until your post). Other than quickly talking about what I did as a kid in that post, I don't talk about sports I play in my free time. Not cool to be bagged on and miss the joke LOL.

So you've never watched any of the Star Wars?

Oh yeah, I have 4 older brothers so my little brother and I watched what they watched. So I saw the originals when I was a kid, one time each (I remember liking the 2nd one, Empire Strikes Back, the best). Just not enough to know much about them other than the main characters' names. Once I got older and the newer ones came out, I never watched them and had no inkling to. Not ripping anyone who is into it, it's just not my cup of tea.

I actually enjoyed Space Balls much more when I was a kid and watched that a lot of times.

That's arguably the best way to experience the series. Watch the three originals as a kid, and then never watch another Star Wars movie again. The prequels are an abomination.

"... no, never a horse" but he does fly a mean broom.

"Outside playing sports" plural is pure Koon hyperbole, NDinL.A. picked up from frequent verbal sparring with the banned one. Actually he has only one sport, NDinL.A. is a World Class Quadditch player. He has a trophy case chocked with Quidditch Cups. Known as "The Enforcer" his killer move is the "Sepulveda Drive-By" developed at The Coliseum during his Trojan battles. He actually moved to South Bend to hone his body under Longo. He hopes one day his naked abs will hang on Koon's bedroom ceiling. Around the house Mrs. NDinL.A., née Granger, is known fondly as "Hermione". She has monogrammed bath towels with intertwined "H"s.

No, NDinL.A. doesn't watch a lot of science fiction but he does read a lot. Since retiring as a Sewer Mod from IE he uses the copious hours formerly spent here patrolling the boards for trolls and tripe writing the definitive treatise on Quidditch Strategy. He really knows his "Q"s and "Z"s.

Ehh 3rd one is a poorly made movie but is more entertaining than Return of the Jedi. 1st and 2nd are just trash.

The prequels have many of the same flaws as the original three. We just overlook the ones that we grew up with. Lucas' screenplays have always been really weak and contrived.

Comparing the first set of Star Wars movies to the second set is like comparing Dirty Dancing to Lambada: The Forbidden Dance. They're both masterpieces in their own right.

There are some heavy hitters in the recruiting services' that do check out other sites like this one so, as silly as this may sound, you want to leave a good impression on them.

Serious question, what does this mean?

Yeah, Koon was 2013's "Most Likely to Get Banned." Who was runner up?
Title2014
The winner for 2012 was ALLGATOR and the runner up was IrishPat
Neutered won in 2011 by a landslide with 49 total votes.
If this award has taught us anything it's that you do not want to be nominated. It's only a matter of time before you get the axe.
