I've temporarily closed this thread to clear the air.

We can't read PM's. I assure you all.

It's my fault that LAX got ahold of Koon's info. Irish#1 shared it with me as an unrelated third party to see if there was any truth to what Koon had shared due to its nature, and because there had been other rumors floating around at the time.

When we hear something that might be considered "alarmist" material that might throw the board into an uproar, we source it with each other to see if something legit is up, or if people are spreading rumors for no reason.

Irish#1, my bad for breaking your confidence. I sourced it with the one guy I thought would share a source if there was one to see if we needed to get ready for chaos on the board.

Koon, I assure you that your PM's are safe.

Koon, If you’re lurking, I can assure you I didn’t share the PM with Lax. A few weeks later I had a discussion with Lion outside of IE, but did not share names. Given the nature of the information and the black eye it would have given the University not just the football program (much worse than the frozen five), I wanted to see if there were any other stories floating around to corroborate it. Given the magnitude I felt it was worth it.

I'm not sure about the PM stuff, but if anyone actually thinks they have a legitimate expectation of privacy for information stored on this site... you probably don't.

Yeah, his old handle did have his name in it. I also know he asked a bunch of posters to follow his Twitter several years back so he could win some contest or bet, something about he could get more followers than someone else. I know he was running the Knute Rockne Twitter too, and possibly a few other ND related ones. Isn't there a Father Sorin account?

I still don't think anyone I ban is necessarily a bad person, but there are limits to what you can do on this board...especially if it is constantly causing headaches.

Anyone who posts pictures of themselves (and their WAGS), their first name, their Twitter handle, etc. etc. on this site as Koon and other have shouldn't feel astonished that their identity could be discovered if they have never had direct communication with someone outside of this site.

I don't advertise who I am necessarily but if someone really wanted to know they can PM me and I'll probably tell them. Why? Because I don't troll or lie or post anything on here I would be ashamed to see made public.

If you treat this site as a place to say shit you wouldn't in real life then you are in the wrong place. If you aren't authentic with what you say that probably means you are trolling.

What's funny is I logged on tonight to start an "IE Trivia" thread where we could each ask a question about ourselves and see if people could figure out the answer. Probably not a great idea anymore...
