Koon nailed this. Michigan isn't going to end up 6-6 this season because the B1G is such a pile of crap this year after OSU/UM (I'm not convinced PSU and MSU are really that good and Wiscy got straight exposed last week). It's important for our recruiting for Michigan to lose these rivalry games, road games, etc. so the narrative in the media is that Harbaugh can't beat quality opponents, Michigan folds like a tent under adversity, and that he can't develop a QB. When Michigan loses, this story becomes easier to prove.

And it's better for them to lose and increase the likelihood of us getting a Big10 team to expose should we make it to the playoffs. That would be easier on our OLine.

Side note: I haven't met too many USC fans/alums who just disrespect the Irish. It was easy to rag on ND when Carroll was living rent free on campus, but that has really leveled out now since they started hiring their coaches directly from Clown School.

I met an SC alum just the other day at my parish. He mentioned that he has no ill will towards the Irish and never roots against ND.

Nobody can say the same of Michigan

I'm rooting for MSU and it's not even a question. Same with Wisconsin last week. We don't need Michigan for SOS.

They're arguably the biggest recruiting thorn besides Stanford. Plus they're smug, lack self awareness, always think they're better than they are, and actually think they'd beat ND even though we handled them 21-3 before we stopped playing offense, and without Dexter Williams and Ian Book.

Part of the reason I respect USC and USC fans more - they wouldn't be naive enough to think this way.

Michigan is a fake tough guy. But it's still fun to see the fake tough guy get his reality check.

Koon did indeed nail it.

Majority of scUM fans actually believe the bold, and don't listen to reason when it comes to Book and Dexter not even being on the field when we beat them.

For those of you aren't surrounded by scUM fans, I count you as lucky. I've been to games against USC, BC, vs and @ MSU, and yes, scUM, and the competition for *hitiest fan base isn't even close.

They are the definition of arrogant. And it doesn't really help that they haven't beaten a sole, but are still being propped up nationally with that #6 ranking. What a joke. If I didn't live in the mitten state, I would be with you guys with the SoS bit, but I can't stand it anymore.

Bo's national title trophy case...

unknown1.jpeg

"If you think my career has been a failure because I have never won a national title, you have another thing coming. I have never played a game for the national title. Our goals always have been to win the Big Ten title and the Rose Bowl. If we do that, then we consider it a successful season."

Small time.

Also funny that during his tenure, there was only 3 teams in the Big 10 with .500 winning percentage or better, only two above .520. 14 out of his 21 seasons on every schedule he faced had at least 6 teams at .500 or below. What's more, he was just 5-10 against teams who ended the season with 2 losses. 1 win against teams with only 1 loss.

21 years.

247 total games.

6 wins over teams with 1 or 2 losses.

Moreover, Schembechler was a dreadful 5-12 in bowl games, including just 2 Rose Bowl victories (out of 10 appearances, losing his first 5) and 3 major bowl wins overall in a 21-year career at Michigan. Those major bowl wins came against 9-3 Washington in 1980, 9-3 Nebraska in 1985, and 10-2 USC in 1988.

In each Rose Bowl victory season, Michigan lost to Notre Dame. In fact, their win over the Trojans in the '88 Rose Bowl was done a month earlier by the Irish in Los Angeles by twice as many points.

Those Who Stay Will Sometimes Beat Ohio State."

I truly hate Michigan, their fan base, and everything about them. I am pulling for MSU this week and pulled for Wiscy last week.

I get this... SC fans are irritating because so many of them aren't really fans and certainly aren't knowledgeable about anything cfb but love to talk massive smack when they are on top. I still think bama and tOSU fans are worse than any of our rival bases all things considered.

This is fair, I've heard the horror stories of pOSU fans, especially in Columbus. As *hitty as it is the way they can act, at least those two schools have reasons to be cocky *ssholes.

scUM beat Wisconsin by more than BYU did. So at least we are CERTAIN that scUM is better than BYU. They can hang their hat on that.

The thing with BAMA, if they are a true fan, I don't mind their shit talk because it is 100% warranted at this point. I don't mind arrogance when it is warranted. I despise Michigan fans for the same reason I despise Bears and UGA fans: unwarranted arrogance. Those three fan bases cheer for teams that have won 2 championships in the last 40 years combined yet they act like they are Alabama or the Patriots or whatever every time their team wins more than 2 games in a row.

Most other fan bases say the same thing about Notre Dame fans.

I guess... though from where I'm standing bama fans haven't changed with winning... that's just how they are.

We are arrogant because:

We started the f***king league and lent $200 to that bum Lambeau so he could afford a franchise.
We had Butkus Sayers, Payton, the 46 and you didn't
The Bears were the greatest team of the NFL's greatest era.
The Bears and their fans are so great that the king of comedy had an on going skit featuring them, in NY.

... and don't even make me bring up Brian's Song cuz I don't feel like crying.

I would come back if were him...and move up the draft boards like:

Wilton Speight
John O'Korn
Jake Rudock
Brandon Peters
Alex Malzone

Rudock was a 6th round NFL draft pick and he doesn't get drafted if he doesn't transfer to Michigan for that last year. Iowa replaced him as their starting QB. And they gave him a waiver to transfer to an in conference school. That's how little they thought of him. He was actually pretty good from about game 4 on.

Malzone was a Hoke kid that Harbaugh let stay on. Truth of the matter is Malzone wasn't talented enough to even be playing at this level. He should've been processed much earlier than he was.

Peters got recruited over. McCaffrey and Milton are both ahead of him on the depth chart. It happens. I'd say that's actually a good sign more than it is a bad one. You want to be recruiting a 5* or 4* QB every single class.

You can't talk to me about Wilton Speight. I was never a fan. He was pretty lousy but unfortunately the best QB that Hoke recruited in 5 classes at Michigan. Which isn't saying much. Wilton was basically a 2* recruit with no other FBS offers that the QB guru Al Borges was enamored with. Borges offered him super early and never went after another QB that class. Great call Al. Speight was a game manager at best and Michigan won in spite of him in 2016. He was terrible in the big games in 2016 and was primarily the reason they lost to Ohio State in 2016. He was awful in 2017 before he was injured. He was the sole reason Florida was even in the game the first half of that opener instead of down 40-0.

Don't get me started on O'Korn. I'm with Braylon Edwards on that one. How the hell was his scholarship ever approved? O'Korn had the worst QBR of any QB in the FBS his last year at Houston and lost his job to a 5'10" WR that Houston converted to QB. John O'Korn is the worst QB that I think I've ever seen.

I wonder if it hurts Tom that Ian Book is better than Shea Patterson

You know Shea Patterson, the transfer QB that still isn't very good, but scUM continues to place all their hopes on the transfer QB anyway, because Harbaugh can't find or develop one of his own?

Not mad at all.

I think Ian Book is pretty good. Don't get why Kelly waited so long to start him.

And I also think Shea Patterson is pretty good and has transformed the level of QB play. He's been by far the best they've had in years. And Dylan McCaffrey seems to be developing just fine. Really like the way McCaffrey looks. Really fast kid for his size as well. I like that they are doing more of that read option stuff- McCaffrey seems excellent at it.

Patterson's numbers aren't bad at all given some of their challenges. Watched them a few times, and will be watching them close tomorrow. He is 65+% with 10 and 3. It would be nice if he had more TDs, but he's not bad. The games that I saw, his OL didn't give him much help. Expected more from DPJ (more yards). He's got plenty of TDs though.

I hope they have that on repeat in the MSU locker room. Can't imagine how much I'd want to tear a dude's head off after that.

Yeah, but that came after this.

That was excessive on Bush's end, but Sparty is definitely the one's trying to stir the pot with classlessness.

What? They do that walk-through before every game. It's what they do. Get off the field.

Word on Reddit was that the teams had scheduled times to be in the field. MSU was late and just went into Michigan's time with their walk.

I think Angelique Chengelis explains the whole scenario well enough.

UM-MSU pregame incident — MSU was 10 min late taking field for warmup. UM was already on field (allowed at 10 am). Basically what MN stated. MSU was late for their warmups, did a lineup walk and interrupted Michigan during their time, including bumping into a few guys and ripping one of the guy's earplugs out of his ears.

Don't care what happened during the walk through, Bush didn't need to do that. It was just petty and classless.
