I checked the twitter mentions thinking Michigan fans would be like “Settle down Chase, Dantonio has owned us.” Nope. They’re celebrating his obnoxious, delusional boasting like he’s the second coming of Christ. What a truly god awful fan base they are. I don’t care about improving our strength of schedule, I hope Michigan loses every game for eternity.

I guess, sometimes in life, you gotta ride that little rascal even when it goes in circles.

This is the correct response. If I had the choice between getting to the playoff & Michigan has a good record, or missing the playoff because Michigan tanked and it hurt our SoS...I take the 2nd option. Screw 'em.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">“Sometimes your little brother starts acting up, and you just gotta put them in place.” - Chase Winovich on FOX after Michigan beat MSU. <a href="https://t.co/3DtCxvjOAy">pic.twitter.com/3DtCxvjOAy</a></p>— Brad Galli (@BradGalli) <a href="https://twitter.com/BradGalli/status/1053755902711525377?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">October 20, 2018</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Is there a more delusional team than Michigan? Or a more delusional player than Chase Winovich? Serious question, not rhetorical.

While I completely agree with you, you have to hand it to Michigan for handling their business in hostile territory. They earned the right to refer to MSU as little brother yesterday IMO

The game was over yesterday when Felton Davis tore his Achille's. Sparty's offense was in the dumpster before that injury; now the dumpster's afire.

M's defense is legit, that is well known. I still don't buy their offense. Time will tell.

While they beat an injury decimated MSU team, I was surprised that they didn't win by more. Plus considering their player threw a tantrum and tried to mess up the Spartan head logo prior to the game calling MSU little brother is kind of ironic at best.

Completely disagree. They plodded their way to a win against a bad MSU team... a team that has owned them over the last decade... and then talked massive shit after the game as if they've owned the series as of late. They haven't, MSU has owned them. They haven't earned the right to talk any trash whatsoever.

The pre-game and post-game antics were embarrassing and classless. Chase Winovich is the ultimate dude bro with zero perspective and perfectly epitomizes the Michigan program as a whole.

So how bad does Michigan lose to OSU? I think they're going to lose to PSU as well.

I’m sorry but I’m not impressed with Michigan and their defense at all. Who have they played that’s a good offensive team? No one. Even our team (ND) who scored 24 points on them wasn’t a good offensive team. I’d love to play them again Book plus Dex would score more than that. We did have Bars in that game. But I’m thinking ohio state beats them pretty good

Indeed this is like a kid finally beating his brother in Madden after losing many times in a row and declaring that he is now the big brother.

I’m not a psychologist, but the entire program reeks insecurity and overcompensation. From foot-stomping tantrums to Harbaugh’s bushleague tactics to self-appointed big brother claims and overexaggerated media support, these dudes need to be publicly exposed again.. quickly.

We're kidding ourselves if we don't acknowledge that Michigan has a very good defense. But you are right that they have benefited from playing against some seriously subpar offenses. Here is the breakdown:

1. Notre Dame (pre-Book/Dexter) = 365 yards per game (99th out of 130 teams)
2. Western Michigan = 467 ypg (24th)
3. SMU = 348 ypg (111th)
4. Nebraska = 471 ypg (22nd)
5. Northwestern = 374 ypg (90th)
6. Maryland = 330 ypg (119th)
7. Michigan State = 351 ypg (108th)

Just for reference, Notre Dame in the Book era is averaging 474.5 yards per game, which would rank 21st in the country.

yup. posted something similar on scUMs opponents in another thread.

i think week 1 scUM has improved on O a bit. QB is improving, WRs are still hit or miss, and running game is average to above average (but inconsistent). Week 1 ND has improved at QB and WR, stepped back at OL, and a little improvement at RB.

I think the week 1 game would look a lot different if played now. I think we'd see more scoring on both sides. While they are still #1 vs the pass, they have not been tested by a good passer (who can also run a bit). I think Book would shred them on the short/intermediate. I also think Patterson would do better than game one. I still think we'd win, probably by 14, if played at home.

That game was way over before then. They did nothing all game long even with him. MSU only points came off a trick play on 3rd down after they got the ball at the Michigan 6 yard line because Chris Evans coughed it up when Harbaugh was just trying to run the ball and make room for the punter.

That was the most lopsided 14 point win I've ever seen. MSU was out gained 395 yards to 94 yards. The only score they had was from 6 yards out on a trick play.

Meh. Penn State has looked very beatable. I highly doubt they'll be able to come into Ann Arbor for a night game and generate much against that Michigan defense with that home crowd. Penn State looks pretty soft.

Ohio State's defense has looked awful for weeks now and they haven't been able to run the football all year long.

It was 7-0 in the second quarter, but nice try. Trick play or not, it was tied up in the third and Sparty's woeful offense was without its only weapon. Keep patting yourself on the back, though.

Would you say it's the most lopsided 14 point win since September 1st? Cause it took until the final 2 minutes of the game for the Wolverines to score an offensive touchdown when ND went conservative.

Completely justified. Great Michigan Men. Immediate induction into the Michigan Ring Of Honor. Also, can't forget, Michigan would destroy ND in a rematch.

Yeah, put me down as thoroughly unimpressed with Michigan's offensive output against Sparty.

21 points and 395 yards looks sufficient on paper, but keep in mind that Michigan had the ball for an absolutely insane 42 minutes out of 60.

Michigan State has a strong defense, but even the best defenses aren't going to be able to defend adequately while being on the field THAT long.

Michigan's defense remains elite, but the offense still has issues.

I do think scUM is overrated, and MichSt's O sucks ballz, but it was a good win for them. That road win was better than our home wins vs Ball St, Vandy, and Pitt. All teams have ups and downs, and we certainly have. All that separates us is 7pts in S Bend, and maybe a slightly tougher schedule (maybe based on assumptions).

I do think we are different, and better with Book now under center, and Dex back. And I think our O ceiling is much higher than scUM's if our OL can improve.

I'm not 100% sure and could be wrong here, but I don't think the outcome is determined by the total number of yards.

Never said they were that good. They've still got a ton to work on.

They should've won by more. Sparty has a very good front 7, but that secondary is suspect. The game would've been 24-0 though if Evans didn't cough it up at Michigan's own 6 yard line and Quinn Nordin didn't miss an easy chip shot FG so horribly.

They still make way too many dumb penalties every game. Nordin can hit 55 yards that look good from 60 plus but ask him to make short FG's and XP's and he turns into a headcase that looks like he's never kicked a day in his life. Really thought he would turn the corner this year but he's actually looked like he's going backwards. Outside of Nordin though the special teams have been pretty good. Hopefully Nordin can turn it around. I have my doubts though. The kid seems like a real dumbass that doesn't have the calmness and the temperament to be a kicker. Defense has been really good and getting better every week. Aubrey Solomon is almost back to 100% and Gary should be back in a couple of weeks. Those are two huge pieces on that DL.

Ed Warriner definitely looks like the real deal. I can't believe what he's done with that group of OL. I'm shocked really. I hope they sign that dude to a long contract as OL coach and OL coach only. Despite what anyone says, Shea is a massive improvement over the QB play they've had the last few years. Tarik Black is almost back to 100%, so that should help the pass game for sure. Black is a real talent. The WR's are talented, but young and inconsistent. DPJ flashes then disappears. Flashes then disappears. Nico Collins has been the most consistent WR. Chris Evans still has his fumblitis issues though and he's just not a RB. Every time they try to run him between the tackles he either gets nothing or coughs up the ball. He's a space player, not a RB, who probably needs to move to slot WR. The offense still is wildily inconsistent. Has no rythm or pace, just a jumbled mess. Harbaugh and Pep Hamilton honestly are just terrible offensive coaches. Some of the stuff they do just makes me go what the eff? They need to run more shotgun and use Patterson on the read option a lot more. Few times they've done it, Patterson has made big plays with his feet.

Bottom line: I don't trust Harbaugh/Pep to move this offense forward where it needs to go. They just both kinda suck to be perfectly honest.
