Good for them. Its just setting up to be a hilarious meltdown when Hill and Hinton bounce before NSD. I don't think Harbaugh will be lasting much longer, but I hope he stays forever. He's got them stuck in the mud and he won't be taking them anywhere.

Off topic: Would anyone be concerned if Brian Kelly got absolutely zero production from his QBs during his first 3 seasons and going into his 4th season? I know I would be. The media and Michigan fans are always saying "Harbaugh hasn't had a QB yet" blah blah blah. Who's fault is that? Harbaugh has no one but himself to blame. When that overrated Patterson won't be able to save them, people will realize that Harbaugh is the issue.

I like watching Michigan burn, but we need to cool it on comparisons to Kelly. BK has just under a 70% winning percentage at ND (this gives him credit for the wins that were vacated). Currently, Jimmy has a winning percentage just over 70% at UM.

He certainly is trending down, but in terms of overall production at Michigan and ND, they are pretty even.

It's even more concerning when you take into consideration the way he manufactured his QB room. His most productive QB in his tenure at scUM was Rudock, the transfer from Iowa. He had/still has a QB room full of 4 star recruits in Speight, Peters, and McCaffrey, then took in yet ANOTHER transfer who immediately started over each of these recruits that the so called QB Guru Harbaugh was supposed to be molding.

It's a bad look for recruiting. Idk why any Elite 11 caliber QB recruit would even take a look at playing for Harbaugh the way he's handled the depth chart, let alone the lack of progression we've seen from those he did recruit

Agreed, you sign a bunch of #1 style QBs... promising to develop them into pros... then go out and recruit transfers over them. That's an easy way to lose the team. They have recruited a 4-star QB every single class so next year they're about to have some transfers unless Patterson goes pro.

Surprised to see Daxton Hill commit to Michigan. He’s a stud. Should be fun to watch poaching season get under way soon enough because Michigan should be near the top of the list in teams who should be plundered of their talent. Harbaugh is guaranteed around $7.5M per year for the next 3 seasons after this one (~$22M total) so it is conceivable that the administration could bite the bullet if he becomes a pain in the butt and the losing gets worse.

Was a bit shockeed that Hill committed as well. I thought Bama was sitting pretty good with him. Word is his parents wanted Michigan but he wanted Bama. Either way, I hope it works out for Hill. He has the potential to be a good one. I am sure at some point our friend havorford will breakdown how this propels Michigan back in to the national title discussion every year.

I don't think we'll be seeing much of Tom for awhile.

He will be back Sunday, October 14:

ND is 5-2, and just ended a two game slide with an UGLY win against Pitt

Michigan is 6-1 after Patterson throws 5 TDS against Wisconsin

Tom drive by posts something along the lines of:

Took Patterson a few weeks to get up to speed on Hairballs offense, but looks like he is starting to run it efficiently now.

His only bad game really was in week one when the offensive line hadnt gelled yet, and left him for dead all game. Not his fault.

It's been over half a decade since the Wolverines had a win against the Irish.

Speight was an unranked recruit with zero offers from the FBS until that QB genius Al Borges offered him. He wasn't a 4*.

Peters by the way just got passed over by McCaffrey for 2nd string on the depth chart. There's been insider chatter from day one he just doesn't have the personality that Harbaugh wants in a QB- that he's basically weird, doesn't talk at all and isn't a leader. That talk has been out there since he arrived. I really like the young McCaffrey from what I've seen. Definitely looks to me like he's just got more of a feel for the game than Peters ever did.

Joe Milton was a 4* but that ranking was 100% based on upside. He's huge, athletic, and probably had the strongest arm in the entire 2018 class but he was raw as it comes. Should've been ranked a 3*, because at the actual game of football- he just wasn't that good in high school. 6'5, 235, runs a 4.6 and can throw a football at probably close to 70 mph and over 85 yards. What good is any of that though if you can't read defenses and complete passes accurately consistently?

Rudock started because he was flat out the best QB on that roster in 2015. And it wasn't even close. Shea started because he was flat out the best QB on that roster in 2018. And it's not even close.

No. They don't have the RB talent right now and the OL is an absolute mess. They have the worst set of starting tackles that I have ever seen at Michigan. They are going nowhere fast with that OL as it is currently constructed. I don't know what they are waiting for but they should be hitting the panic button and burning redshirts and trying all different kinds of combinations at tackle asap.

As for the RB talent. It's pretty bad. Chris Evans can't pick up blitzes and he dances too much in the backfield. He's not a RB. He should be a slot receiver. And Karran Higdon can't pass block and has zero burst. Even when there are holes he can't hit them. Hopefully RB's Hopefully that is about to change with Zach Chabornet, Eric Gray, and Giles Jackson all committed. Like all of those RB's a heck of a lot. On paper that is the best RB haul they've had in a really, really, really long time.

Also the safety position is incredibly mediocre with Tyree Kinnel and Josh Metellus. Don Brown plays his safeties in man coverage damn near all game long. Both of those guys are average athletes that can't play man and get torched all game long. Even though the freshaman safety Brad Hawkins let a little white boy steal an INT from him- he looks way better than Metellus to me. Eye test tells me he just moves at a different speed than Metellus. I really like Hawkins. He should be starting over Metellus if you ask me. Metellus is awful. The reason why Dax Hill's commitment is so huge is because he is literally the perfect safety for Don Brown's scheme. He's the best athlete on almost any field and he can cover like a CB. He won't be a complete liability in man coverage like Metellus or Kinnel.

Patterson might leave, but he should come back. He's got so much upside if he just keeps working on his game. He is one of the most talented pure throwers of the football that I have ever seen at Michigan. Peters is gone regardless. McCaffrey already passed him up on the depth chart. Mixon is a complete project. He won't see the field for at least 2-3 more years.

Just wanted to point out that Mr. Haverford hasn't posted once since Michigan took the L in Week 1.

Big set of balls that guy has.

I have been busy big guy. The game went exactly how I thought it would. I believe if you look up in that thread I predicted the exact score. ND-24, Michigan- 17

I'm not like most of the folks that give you shit, but can you get a better avatar... something that will allow me to hate you with ease? Perhaps Tom Brady, or Des?

My name is Tom Haverford though. I don't even like Desmond Howard. I used to. Until he became a tv commentator. Annoying isn't the word. How can you hate Tom Brady? He's a god damn American hero.

Anyway, not sure how to search but I am like 100% sure I predicted months ago Michigan would lose by 7 and the OL would struggle.

Brady is a national cry baby. Please use his avatar.

You did say ND wins by 7 (in a reply to me, good call), but not sure you predicted the score.

Haha I laughed as well.

I had a coworker tell me he wishes scUM could get another shot at ND and that we got "lucky." I have no idea how he can consider that victory lucky. We took our foot off the gas the entire second half offensively, the only offensive TD they scored was in garbage time when we were letting them bleed clock, and most importantly, we started our backup QB and beat them.

I guess he's gained a lot of confidence from their stout schedule since their journey to South Bend, especially after that incredible performance in Evanston last Saturday.

I have a few of my friends who are MI fans say this as well. I find it funny. They always have something stupid to say. One minute they hate everything and the next they think they're just better than everyone. They were talking like they made such big improvements from the 1st game (and apparently no other team can as well) but then they almost dropped one to NW and their offense looked like trash. The MI arrogance is more comical than annoying these days.

I would not want to play them again with BW starting. I'd happily take them again with Book.
