How's that working out for San Francisco. You are kidding yourself if you don't think half the NFL would be falling over to hire the guy. I agree that he's a better fit for CFB though. But unlike Saban, Petrino, and Chip Kelly, Harbaugh actually won in the NFL, and won big.
agreed. San Fransisco has come completely apart without Harbaugh. They hadn't made the playoffs in 9 years before he got there. His first 3 years they made 3 straight NFC championships and a Super Bowl. Were a play away from winning that Super Bowl and a play away from going to 3 straight Super Bowls. Literally a play away. His last year with more players on IR than any team in the league and with reports leaking out every week that he was toast he still went 8-8.
San Fransisco went like 4-12 the year leaves and it's looking like it'll be a 1-15 or 2-14 season under Chip Kelly.
Harbaugh was actually a success on the football field, unlike Saban, Petrino or Chip.
Harbaugh was pushed out of the door bc he clashed with the GM and the Owner and he wanted more control. There was even a story out there that he told York to get out of the locker room because the locker room was reserved only for men.
Kind of similar to Jerry Jones pushing Jimmy Johnson out of the door bc of Johnson going at Jerry Jones all of the time.
York is a shitty owner. Just like Jerry Jones is a shitty owner. These guys have egos that are more important than winning.
The best owners are the ones that stay out of the way and do everything in their power to support the coach and defer to the coach and try not to mettle. See: Bob Kraft. He completely defers to Belichik and let's Belichik run the entire show. That's what a great owner does.
