Iowa QB Rudock released, able to go to U-M or elsewhere

Michigan's QB Situation
With Devin Gardner gone to the NFL and Russell Bellomy transferring to UTSA for his fifth year, the only Michigan QB with playing time is Shane Morris, a junior.

Behind Morris is redshirt freshman, Wilton Speight, and incoming freshmen, Alex Malzone and Zach Gentry. John O'Korn, a transfer from Houston, will sit out a year with eligibility in 2016 &'17.

That's a depth chart that any 2016 QB recruit has to consider.

Michigan Scholarship Situation 2015

Michigan Scholarship Situation 2015

Michigan's busy offseason may be just the beginning in Jim Harbaugh's first season.

Last year Michigan had eighty-one scholarship players and awarded four walkons scholarships. Harbaugh salvaged the Class of 2015 (total 14 commitments) with seven commitments after he came on board. Four significant decommitments (Weber, Kirkland, Clark and Taylor) contributed to their scholarship total dropping below eighty-five - but opened up scholarships to transfers and walkons once again, considering attrition.

Seven players are no longer with the program since Harbaugh was hired - two undergrad transfers, three graduate transfers, one early entrant to the NFL draft, and one retiring due to possible future medical concerns.

At this point, Michigan has eighty players on scholarships (walkon scholarship players returning are not counted). Also, Michigan also has three players with preferred walkon status and three walkons who had scholarships in 2014 returning this year.

With fourteen seniors without eligibility remaining graduating next spring, the five extra scholarships from 2015 and estimating a couple more lost due to attrition, their 2016 could be in the 20-23 range.

AUBURN COACH UNHAPPY WITH UM CAMP
Michigan will be participating in a football camp in Pratville, Alabama, and Auburn coach Gus Malzahn told the Montgomery Advertiser that he isn't happy about it. The SEC has a rule that teams can't hold camps more than 50 miles from campus, and he said that rule should be the same throughout the country.

Sounds alot like the Weis-Clausen Dink-bowl of 2007. Over fifty thousand souls that don't realize how desperate their plight and how dim their hopes!
