As an aside, going to be funny as hell when Ohio State goes --

"Meh, we're not firing him, deal with it."

And sadly, in a year or two, most people will have the same outlook on the program and the situation, whether they fire him or retain him. The only difference is they'll take less heat if they're still winning games and Urb can win games. I don't see him going anywhere.

At a minimum, old Shell bells has to be canned. What an awkward spot if she is terminated, but they keep him.

Best case scenario is Shelly, Urb's wife gets pinned as the fall gal and she's pissed b/c she's going down and Urb's still banging coeds two at a time. In response, she provides proof that not only did Urban know but everyone in the athletic department knew and they silenced her. That may be a death penalty situation. A man can dream.

If pOSU is smart the fire him before the season starts so they can get this past them and start looking for a new coach. Having him around all season is going to be nothing but short of a disaster.

If "all the coaches and their wives knew", how do you keep Schiano? He also committed a Title IX violation. I don't see how you don't completely clean house if you fire Urban. It's either put your head in the sand completely, or go scorched earth.

Fair enough, who is out there then at this stage that is realistic?? Honest Q.

What's an assistant's duty to report in this instance? Honest question.

They may be released of their duty if they reported to Urban. If Urban takes the fall, he may clear his assistants whether they reported or not.

Upcoming season? Not much. Maybe give a temp job to an old hand with the understanding that he will be treated as a hero and be thanked for his sudden service no matter how the season goes, for obvious reasons given the circumstances. Les Miles seems like the kind of guy who would do that, could handle the situation with a lot of class, and who could get the kids to buy in for a year.

The next year? Whoever they want, with the exception of maybe 8 blueblood/settled coaches. They're Ohio State.

I would grab Jeff Brohm

I don't think many top coaches would leave this close to the season without some significant statement of extreme goodwill going forward, even for a landing spot as sweet as Ohio State. Brohm knows that he's going to get a great job sometime soon. Going to OSU, likely starting your career with a bad season because of the complete upheaval, and having a cloud of potential NCAA infractions hanging over the institution is not ideal.

this is some serious shit. if you look at the pics and texts, no way Urban didn't know.

This could actually cost him his job. Sticking by a crap coach who can't develop WR's might just cost him his job.

I'm sure nothing will even come out of this. OSU is just making it look like they care. Hope I'm wrong.

I am actually quite surprised by this announcement. Shocked, actually. Objectively, I thought there was a lot of speculation... maybe not? Cheers and Go Irish!

That escalated quickly... Are they just taking action to say they took action and now people will forget about it hoping time will heal this wound?

Look for the victim's credibility to be put on trial, because thats usually what happens.

Who else besides Meyer is on the hook?
