this is some serious shit. if you look at the pics and texts, no way Urban didn't know.

This could actually cost him his job. Sticking by a crap coach who can't develop WR's might just cost him his job.

McMurphy was speculating that the reason he didn't was because Zach told Courtney he would burn the program to the ground if they ever fired him.

I doubt they actually wanted to keep him.

Which recruits can we start to poach?

I'm gonna go with Matt Campbell as the next head coach in cbus

What % chance do you really think Urban gets fired? I'll say 5%

I wouldn’t be surprised either way. But remember, they fired Woody Hayes w/in hours of his incident & Jim Tressel resigned PDQ (he would’ve been fired after NCAA got through with him).

Those two guys are beloved NC winners, too...just like Urbie.

There are really only two things that can follow a move like this:

1. They put him on “leave” so it looks like the institution cares, which also gives them a convenient excuse to avoid all media questions because of “an ongoing investigation,” then they reinstate him after week one or two as long as they can redact or destroy any of his electronic communications from 2015 that might have shown that he had knowledge. They then say, “Shelly knew, but felt the authorities would handle the situation since a police report had been made.” Urban keeps coaching and Shelly skates because she passes the buck to the police.

OR

2. The lawyers are figuring out how to let Urban resign his position without admitting guilt or responsibility on behalf of both him and Ohio State University. If they figure out how to give him a buyout without looking like total dweebs, and he can take it without his character being ruined with legitimate proof, he gone.

...and just like that Urban has a heart attack.

I can't picture them firing him..

It makes sense to put him on leave so the first couple weeks of practice isn't a media circus...

However, Urban's statement saying he can't wait for the resolution to this without saying and me returning to coach this OSU team is pretty interesting...

Rece Davis has “no inside information that would make this an absolute fact, but my immediate reaction is that they’re negotiating the details of a separation.”

Aka, his best friend Kirk Herbstreit heard that Urbs is gone

I agree w/ your last point. Doesn’t sound like two entities that are about to separate.

Urban Meyer will take a break and then be the next coach at Michigan.

I'm gonna put that way higher. I think Urban is gone. They may not 'fire' him, but they'll give him a chance to resign and save some face.

This is now appx 12 accusations of physical or sexual abuse being covered up by coaches at OSU in less than a month.

They're gonna clean house.

He will almost certainly resign. Even apart from the obvious ethical problem, I believe that both he and his wife are mandatory reporters.

I'm glad to see that there has so far not been much gloating here. This is not a scUM board.

A resignation would be tantamount to an admission of guilt. Meyer has every reason to fight this tooth and nail.

I would be shocked if this ends in anything but Meyer keeping his job or a lawsuit on the heels of his firing.

Quick question. If the issue was reported to the police, are they still required to report it?

I don't know. These changes to his contract are pretty straightforward.

We're hearing this now. OSU has been working on this since the Smith firing. If Urban isn't back at the controls before the end of camp, he gone.

This is wild: One day after the alleged domestic incident, that Urban Meyer allegedly knew about (Oct. 25, 2015), Meyer went on Bill O'Reilly's show and said that he'd have trouble keeping Jameis Winston on his team after Winston stole crab legs. ONE DAY

Side note: The above kind of bugs me,... don’t pretend to be shocked by this stuff. Those who screamed about Meyer being a dirtbag for years usually got an eye roll or ‘hater’ label from many of the media types pretending to be so taken back by this now. STFU and do your job and maybe this guy, and many, many like him would have been chased out long ago... just watch, massive corruption, performance enhancing drugs and faux classes found at Bama and all these clowns will act shocked...

The wolves are howling, and the fire is growing dim...

The cold is setting in, and the predator has become the prey.

Hide your volleyball players, OSU. Meyer has a grudge **** on his mind.

This makes sense.

In my opinion, I think the administrative leave is to buy time to see if a smoking gun emerges. If there is no proof that Urban knew, Shelley takes one for the team and Urban comes back clean. On the other hand, if proof emerges that Urban knew, then there is no walking this back and Urban resigns.

Urbie's done.

As soon as Koon is done turning the stadium green, he's gonna start #metoo-ing Columbus.

Come gameday in at the shoe, there'll be more people outside jeering than inside cheering.
