Yeah if Urban gets canned he will be back coaching somewhere or get decent job. Tressel went to Youngstown St. in a non athletic capacity as its President. Still a decent gig that probably pays well.

There is zero question in my mind if he does get fired, and that's a huge if, that he'd wind up somewhere again. These schools have zero shame when it comes to wanting to win. He's 54 years old with a record of 177-31. He'll do a bit of time in exile and be back again. Warm weather school out West.

Dabo gets offered and accepts that job in a millisecond

and Clemson goes back to it's normal position in the world of CFB.

Assuming OSU lowers the boom and as long as he wants to coach, Meyer will land somewhere. Most likely a second or third tier school before ending at a school like a Louisville, Iowa State, New Mexico, etc.

Meyer has a history of questionable behaviour. I'm surprised nothing has percolated to the top before this.

Rece Davis and Joey Galloway think he's gone, which means Kirk Herbstreit heard that he's gone.

The big local radio guy in Cincy is hearing from his Columbus buddies that "it's not looking good at all."

Most of the world seems to think they are negotiating a mutual separation so both Urban and the school can save their reputation, or at least minimize the damage.

I can only assume this means that OSU is going to use a doctored police report to save Urban's job, and that Urban and Shelley will both be off the hook when they put the onus on Smith's ex-wife and the authorities.

I'm hearing he is gone as early as today but probably not until next week. They have championship aspirations so don't want to drag this deep into camp.

For some reason I just can't see Dabo taking the job, but who knows. It's is a top program, and OSU's program net worth has been 1 or 2 the last several years. IMO, Dabo will inherit Bama when Saban retires.

It's funny to think about interim choices too. Schiano and Wilson, who both have HC experience, but also have scandals of their own.... lol... It would have to be their OC Day IMO.

What a mess.

I don't know her, but I don't see this happening. My wife would never consent to something like that out of the sheer embarrassment. It's embarrassing enough that your husband is a nationally known figure and is in the middle of this, but to be talked into be the scapegoat? Besides, I think there is enough info out already that could refute her claim.

Happens all the time politically, corporately... Sadly its really a continuation of abuse as the women are convinced by the spin doctors to eat a pillow because their husbands are the power brokers. Must keep them safe, etc etc. Its terrible but you see it all the time.

Is Smith's ex still living in Columbus? She is going to have a miserable life there considering the OSU zealots and how they behave

pOSU has plenty of choices as their next HC. PJ Fleck, Mike Vrabel (longshot) Dan Mullen, Charlie Strong, steve Addasio, DJ Durkin, Tom Herman, Luke Fickell. And those are out of Urban's coaching tree (less Fleck).

Oh I know they'll have plenty of takers. OSU has the highest value of any CFB team, and people will line up. Vrabel isn't leaving before or after his first year as NFL HC lol. None of those guys you listed are home runs IMO, and some are pretty meh.

One of my crazy buddies from OSU is saying they should go after Chip Kelly or Lame Kitten if they can't get Dabo.... lol...

I really like Campbell. I think it's too soon though to hand the Ferrari keys over to someone who is an expert Ford Fiesta driver, and has just started to get good at driving a mid grade Lexus.

I do think he will start challenging in the B12, but it's way too soon to give him a top 5 program.

So they're convinced to lie about something terrible to keep their current lifestyle the way it is... Kind of like the coaches in this situation.

I'm not nearly as sympathetic toward them.

Exactly. Let him sit for a few more years until ND comes calling...

***Wow, that's really true. I had no idea. For a while it was Texas and ND right at or near the top.

Please Lord!!

Campbell and Brohm are the two guys that my "gut" likes for ND.

I'd love Urbie to come and coach our WRs though!!

Honestly I would rather have Mike Elston and just keep the same coaching staff. Hire an awesome DL coach. Seems easier.

Depends how we do the next couple years. Maybe....
If Elston keep on trending up, I think there's as much chance he ends up as Michigan's next HC as NDs...

I was talking to a good friend who went to OSU and the general consensus among people connected to the university is that Urban is toast. He essentially went through the five stages of grief via text message yesterday.
