I'd say scholarship suspension is pretty friggin harsh by any standard...

to me its just as bad to do this as it is to look the other way for more serious stuff. Its like now he is going the other way to prove something to everyone else...but lest he forget what his job is, and who this is all about...

He mightve been looking for an excuse to remove the two players? Is that possible, forgive me for my lack of pOSU knowledge but were these players contributors?

Yeah they are starters I believe. At least Stoneburner is/ was.

Both were starters, Stoneburner at TE (lead all receivers with 7 TDs) and Mewhort at LT. Both were expected to start in '12 and bet the ranch they do. The "suspension" is for the SUMMER and they can "work" their way back on scholarship. It amounts to them having to pay their own way if they're going to summer school.

I have pissed all around the campus at St. Johns. On St Francis (that started off as a dare). On many of Toledo's most distinguishable landmarks. One of the best was the Toledo Police Department, Scott Park Substation. I used to **** quite often on the Lonz Winery before it collapsed. All the time everywhere on Kelly's Island and the bay. Once down town at a Rally by the river I couldn't wait for the porta's to empty so I went around back. Some chick from inside followed the stream for her friend and screamed when she found the source. I few minutes a bicycle policeman, that I sort of knew stopped me with this distraught woman in tow, and asked me if she was absolutely sure I was the man in question, explaining to me what had happened (the viscous uncouth ruffian) and she hesitated just long enough for me to say I was drawing the line at a drop-trau lineup. Guy laughed his *** off. Woman didn't have the heart to proceed.

Sometimes you just have to ****. I for one, don't like discrimination on the basis of having the required tool to relieve myself where I see fit. I can't count all the places I've pissed.

If you haven't pissed on a building at some point, you're probably a woman.

Stoneburner's parents are filthy rich, this is not a punishment for him.

I don't know much about Mewhort other than he went to that terrible high school on Airport Highway. Being a Maumee Valley/St. Francis guy, I can't stand SJJ.

So many Toledo folk on this site. It's crazy.

That sucking sound you are about to hear is the rest of the money leaving town. Toledo is already disproportionately poor. Was not the case when I grew up. 11 fortune 500 companies were headquartered within 25 miles of downtown Toledo, and the Fortune number one partnership.

As of now they have just lost their scholarship for the summer semester. They have to pay their way for any summer course work. They can still use the athletic facilities but not be "associated" with the team through the summer....

They will be back on the field in August.....

This is just polishing a turd...

I think all of the "experts" agree with you. Due to the previous violations at pOSU and UM's reputation at Florida, he is simply putting on a little song and dance to show how tough the new UM is. I'm sure UM is not happy about this incident, but to assume that this incident is so serious that it requires pulling schollies is disingenuous. These two kids will get their schollies back, if I had 1 million vBucks, I would be willing to bet them all.

Please note his new bazillion dollar contract. He has to report. So if he establishes a bulldog attitude against the minor dumb@sses, he can show intent to comply with the terms of his agreement. This is a commercial contract issue, not a moral compliance issue!
